    초록

    The problems on father and son has been many themes for literature work regardless of the East and the West as well as acient and modern times. Especially the existence of father is the first important character in human's mind and the subject representing standard of life. Traditional concept focusing on outside by father has been influenced on our lives while such a father's feature has been become to 'lost existence' in the 20th century. However, father's existence is still in realities of life. Also it is certain that it does not exist. as there is substance of father while there is an absence as public existence.
    The discourse on 'Father', which is called 'Oidipus', is considered as the absolute one in Korean literature. 'Father has not only the personal/biological meaning but also symbolic meaning of law/ ruler/truth/super-ego and so on. The son’s perspective on 'Father' can be revealed through 'Oidipus Complex'- the fear of castration, an illegitimate child or adopted child.
    I would like to suggest that the discourse on 'Father-Son' relationship in Korean literature has assumed the new aspect from 1980’s to 1990’s through <Kaeheulaekkun> by Kim So Jin. The feature of Father in <Kaeheulaekkun> is 'who is spiritless personal being in public', which is revealed by the job of mating dogs. The son in 1980’s Korean literature is trying to make new feature of Father by denying one’s father or castrating the being. But the try would be transfered to 'Sympathy' by understanding/experiencing the inability of one’s father who has suffered from the state of war and has lost his hometown and had to survive. 'The new feature of Father' has created in mid-90’s Korean literature. The discourse on “Father” is no longer “public being” but is “private being” in 1990’s Korean literature. But it is not easy to repatriat to completed father.
    When the Cold war system was falling down and the Postmodernism was emerging, the father was falling deeper by women writers who never took a key role before. The 2000s has come but the father has not been able to return where they used to belong. In 2005, the father finally regained what they used to have through the book <Run Father> written by Kim, Aae Ran but it could be done by using ‘imagination’. There are abitdifferences between the 2000 sand the 90s.The father is taking back by the daughter. For the father who is not a public enemy anymore, the illegitimate daughter, who were thinking of putting sunglasses on the father, finalized having the father retuning back with sympathy. There turning back of the father is not taking hard, refuse neither eradication but things are not so different. This could happen since everybody around is warm of the father. The father just needs tool.
    In 2008, father returns back by <Father’s Privacy> written by Seo Ha Jin. But fater comes back as 'a representative family'. Such a father shows his personal life by <Mask>. Even Masked Father using mask, he can not be satisfied with equality between gender society. He needs more life- energy so writer sublimates an affair in sympathy but father still needs mask to have personal life.
    Overall, we look over change of personal father figure from after 90’s Korean novels. Interesting thing is that Change of Stature of Father has been affected by many external aspects. Moreover, in returning of father, presence of father has been changed by external views of sons or daughters, itself. Therefore, we cannot deny that external aspects of Father affect rebuilding of father figure rather than change of father itself. In the way of returning of father, Father becomes <Kaeheulaekkun>, <Running Father> and <Father in Mask>' ,eventually. Once we can judge that position of father is insignificant and pity throughout them, it is important that change of others’ point of view takes priority for acceptance of father. At the age of the father with the existance and absence but does not revert to patriarchal discipline, hope this study will be a key process to find out the father existing in the surface of the human.
