월지 서편 A건물지 복원 관련 자료의 분석과 VR복원 (Analysis of the Data Related to the Restoration of Building A in the West of Wolji Pond and VR Restoration)

초록

지난 30년간 다양한 종류의 문화유적이 VR복원되었고 그와 관련하여 다양한 논의가 이루어졌다. 하지만 VR복원이 갖는 의미에 대한 논의는 그다지 이루어지지 않았다. 그러다 보니 VR복원을 각종 전시관에서 일반인들에게 홍보용으로 제공하는 서비스로만 이해되어 왔던 경향도 있었다. 그러나 최근 들어 VR복원이 문화유적 복원사업의 완벽한 대안은 아니라 하더라도 새로운 방식의 복원안 중의 하나로서 논의되기 시작하였다. 뿐만 아니라 하나의 문화콘텐츠로서 다양한 방향에서 활용될 수 있으며, 그 중 하나가 문화유적의 연구와 해석에도 영향을 줄 수 있게 되었다는 점이다.
본고에서는 이러한 인식을 가지고 월지 서편 A건물지에 대한 기존의 복원안을 조사 성과를 재검토하여 문제점을 찾아보고 그에 대한 새로운 해결책을 찾아보았다. 발굴보고서에 대한 재검토, 그리고 주변 관련 유적에 대한 재해석, 이를 바탕으로 한 문헌자료의 해석 등이 함께 이루어진다면 월지와 동궁에 대한 보다 다양한 이해가 가능할 것으로 생각된다. 그리고 그 과정에서 만들어진 A건물지에 대한 VR복원은 연구자들에게 현재 이해의 수준이 어떠한지를 가시화하여 보여줌으로써 새로운 해석이 가능하게 해 주는 시뮬레이션 연구와 지속적인 버전업이 할 수 있다는 점에서 그 의미가 있다고 할 수 있다.

영어초록

Various kinds of cultural relics have been restored for the past 30 years, and various discussions have been held regarding them. However, there has not been much discussion about the meaning of VR restoration. As a result, there was a tendency that VR restoration was only understood as a service that was provided to the public for promotion in various exhibition halls. Recently, however, VR restoration has begun to be discussed as one of the new ways of restoration, even if it is not the perfect alternative to the restoration project of cultural relics. In addition, it can be used in various directions as a cultural content, and one of them can affect the research and interpretation of cultural relics.
With this perception, we reviewed the performance of the existing restoration plan for the West A building site of Wolji to find problems and find new solutions to it.
Through this analysis, the basic design report for 2014 was compared to the 1978 report and found that there were many concerns about how to understand, estimate and restore the remains found in the 2014 report. In particular, as found in the rough organization of the western building site of the excavation report, there is a limit to the fact that the survey method was centered on the plane, and the fact that it was not a time of detailed analysis during the investigation makes it difficult to conduct restoration research.
Therefore, the 2014 report showed that the new interpretation of the basic direction for restoration, in line with the perception of the palace's basic form, was much more advanced than the understanding of the existing report.
Nevertheless, given that there is a difference in perception of the building's prototype between the Anapji Excavation Survey Report and the Donggung Restoration Plan Report, further restoration research is expected to be carried out. This is because the difference in floor plan perception of individual buildings during the restoration process is not just an individual building, but also a change in the direction of understanding the entire site. Therefore, it is necessary to check why such a difference occurs. This is because, in the end, accurate analysis and reasonable interpretation of the remains are the basis for understanding the aspects of the relics at the time.
In addition, the excavation of the west-side A building site in 2018 provided basic data to address these questions. In this way, if the excavation report is reviewed, reinterpretations of the surrounding relics, and interpretations of the literature based on them, a more diverse understanding of Wolji and Donggung is possible. And the VR restoration of the A-building site created in the process is meaningful in that it allows researchers to conduct simulation studies and continuous version-up that enable new interpretations by visualizing what the current level of understanding is.
