초록

Dimensional approach to the personality factors vulnerable to depression has been introduced. In this paper, we reviewed concepts and measures of neuroticism, tridimensional personality model, dependency and self-criticism, sociotropy and autonomy, perfectionism and interpersonal sensitivity. It has been suggested that depression vulnerability is determined not by single personality trait but by interactions of independent personality traits. Especially, we focused on the interpersonal sensitivity and discussed about the concept, interpersonal sensitivity measure (IPSM) and results of researches using IPSM. Interpersonal sensitivity has been reported to contribute to the vulnerability to depression, and specifically, contribute to the development and relapse of nonmelancholic-nonendogenous depression.
Furthermore, interpersonal sensitivity affects negatively to the outcome of depression and plays a role to the vulnerability of anxiety disorders. Further researches about trait-state characteristics of interpersonal sensitivity and the contributions of this personality trait to depression need to be done. Also, behavioural and neuroimaging studies investigating the neural correlates of interpersonal stress and modulating role of interpersonal sensitivity to interpersonal stress may contribute to the further understanding of pathophysiology of depression.
