HCI 기술과 융합한 디지털 쥬얼리의 감성디자인 콘텐츠 연구－감각과 경험의 확장에 근거한 디지털 인터랙션 개념을 중심으로－ (A Study on Emotional Design Contents for HCI in Converged Digital Jewelry -Focused on the Concept of Digital Interaction Embodied Expansion of Human Senses and Experience-)

초록

디지털 인터랙션 기술은 정보과학기술과 뉴미디어의발달로 인해 현대사회의 산업과 디자인의 전 영역에적용되고 있으며, 디지털 장치의 형태가 점차 소형화되고 개인화(Personalization)되면서 다양한 스마트의류와 IT컨버젼스 제품 역시 활발히 연구되고 있다. 그러나 HCI(Human Computer Interaction)을 비롯한 현사회의 인터랙션 개념은 본래 인간이 주체로서 인간과사회, 혹은 인간내면과의 소통을 구현하기 위함이 아닌, 디지털 기술의 현시적 기능만 존재하고 주체가 망각되어 소통의 부재와 인간소외의 부작용을 초래하는현실을 가져왔다.
이에 본 연구는 인간이 감각의 확장을 위해 고안해낸 도구인 디지털 인터랙션 기술에 감성 디자인의 콘텐츠를 적용하여 관계 속 소통과 노마드적 경험의 확장을 구현하는 프로토타입을 제시하고자 한다. 연구방법으로는 국내외 논문과 출판물의 문헌, 인터넷, 국내외 정보 D/B 및 네크워크 검색을 통해 수집된 자료를중심으로 연구의 이론적 배경, 기술의 현주소와 활용범위, 구체적 사례와 프로토타입의 연구, 분석이 이루어졌다. 본문에서는 우선, 인간의 신체감각의 확장에서기인한 인터랙션 개념을 정의하고 디지털 노마드(Digital Nomad)적 환경의 변화를 살펴보았다. 또한,과학기술이 구현해낸 감각의 확장이 소통의 매개체가된 사례를 예술과 디자인분야에서 살펴보고, 인터랙션디자인에 있어 감성 콘텐츠의 중요성을 고찰하였다.
특히, 탠저블 유저 인터페이스(Tangible User Interface)를 활용한 다기능적(Multi-layered) 착용 컴퓨터기술을사용하며 인체의 감각과 기억, 경험의 감성 콘텐츠를활용한 쥬얼리의 사례를 집중 분석하여, 의복이 아닌독립된 착용인공물(Wearable Artefact)로서 집약적 기술과 감성적 소통의 기능을 동시에 갖춘 디지털 쥬얼리의 가능성을 재조명하였다.
결론에 이르러, 신체의 다양한 감각의 접촉을 통해감성의 HCI(Human Computer Interaction)를 구현하는최적의 인터페이스인 디지털 쥬얼리의 필수요소로서첫째, 감성디자인을 반영하는 콘텐츠, 둘째, 착용자의라이프스타일을 반영한 역동적 인터랙션의 구현, 셋째,아날로그적 Soothing 디자인의 필요성, 그리고 마지막으로, 디지털 기술이 반영된 상호소통의 전 과정이 사용자로 하여금 경험에 기인한 사회적 현상(Social Context)으로 인지되도록 구성할 것을 제안하였다.

영어초록

With the development of information science technology and new media, digital interaction technology has been applied to all spheres of contemporary industry and design. As digital devices have gradually been made smaller and more convenient for personal use, a wide variety of smart clothes and IT convergence products are being aggressively researched. However, the concept of society’s interaction with this technology, including HCI (Human Computer Interaction), has caused side effects such as an absence of communication and human alienation rather than embodying communication between the human subject and society due to the existence of digital technology’s display functions and obliviousness of the subject.
This study thus intends to present a prototype of communication in relations and as an extension of nomadic experience through the application of the content of emotional design to digital interaction technology, a tool for extending the realm of human senses. The study researches and analyzes its theoretical background, the present state of technology and the scope of its use, as well as concrete cases and prototypes. The study defines the concept of interaction derived from the expansion of human senses, examining changes in the digital nomad environment in its main pages. It also explores cases in which the expansion of the senses embodied through science and technology has been a medium for communication in the fields of art and design, considering the significance of emotional content in interaction design.
This study also sheds light on the possibility of digital jewelry with a function for emotional communication, technology-intensively created as independent wearable artifacts, not as clothes. For this, this paper intensively analyzes cases of jewelry making use of human senses, memories, experiences, and emotional content with multi-functional wearable computer technology especially based on tangible user interface.
In its conclusion this study suggests indispensible elements of digital jewelry as optimal interface embodying emotional human computer interaction through diverse sensuous contact including the following: content reflecting emotional design; realization of dynamic interaction reflecting a wearer’s lifestyle; necessity of analog soothing design; and composition in which a user perceives the whole process of mutual communication reflecting digital technology as a social context anchored to experience.
