프랑시스 퐁주의 ‘오브쥬(objeu)’ 관점에서 본 오규원의 동시 연구 (A study on the children’s poem by Oh, Kyu-Won seen from the perspective of Francis Ponge’s ‘objeu’)

초록

본고는 한국 현대시사에서 치열하고도 냉철한 모더니스트로서의 족적을 남긴 오규원이 아이들을 위한 동시에 적잖은 관심과 창작을 할애했던 이유를 묻는 데서 출발한다. 시력 40년 내내 언어의 문제에 천착하며 언어와 사물의 근원적인 간극에서 비롯되는 비동일성의 시학을 심화한 오규원은 동일성의 기법을 근간으로 하는 동시 창작에도 간헐적이지만 지속적으로 관심을 쏟은 것으로 확인된다. 양자 간에 상충하는 요소가 적지 않은 시와 동시가 오규원의 시력 안에서 무리 없이 동거할 수 있었던 근거를 탐색하면서, 본고에서는 20세기 초․중반 ‘사물시’의 새로운 지평을 열며 단순성과 난해성을 함께 지닌 시를 선보였던 프랑시스 퐁주의 ‘오브제의 시학’에 기대어 오규원의 동시와 동시론을 살펴본다. 아울러 오브제의 시학의 핵심을 이루면서 언어와 사물 사이에 놓인 간극(jeu)과 그로부터 발생하는 유희성(jeu)을 담보하는 ‘오브쥬(objeu)’ 개념에 기대어 오규원 동시의 독특한 장르적 위상과 개성적인 지점을 짚어본다. 시와 동시 양쪽에서 관념으로 굳어진 언어를 탈피하고 투명한 언어를 지향한 오규원의 시학은 특히 동시로 넘어와서 ‘동심으로 볼 수 있는 시의 세계’이자 유희성과 즐거움을 함께 추구하는 시의 세계를 보인다. 이때의 유희성과 즐거움은 프랑시스 퐁주가 오브제의 시학에서 강조했던 ‘오브쥬’ 개념으로 오규원의 동시를 검토할 수 있는 근거를 제공하는 한편, 치열한 모더니스트로서의 오규원이 시와 더불어 동시 창작에 새삼 관심을 두었던 이유를 설명할 수 있는 토대를 마련해준다. 상대적으로 진지한 표정을 지을 수밖에 없었던 시에서의 화자와 달리 언어와 사물에 대해 놀이하듯이 즐겁게 말을 부려놓는 오규원 동시의 화자는 그의 시 세계를 다각도로 조명하는 데 유용한 참고가 될 것으로 기대한다.

영어초록

This study starts by asking the reasons why Oh, Kyu-Won, a poet, who have made great achievement as a fierce and cool-headed modernist in the history of contemporary Korean poetry, devoted a lot of attention and composing poetry for the children's poem while capturing an ingenuous world of innocence of childhood. What is the reason why Oh, Kyu-Won, who has focused on the problem of language and deepened the poetry of non-identity for 40 years of his poem creation, has paid attention to the creation of children’s poem? What is the reason why the poem and the children’s poem, which look like the separate world, can cohabit without difficulty in his poet creation history? While suggesting such a question, this study reviews Oh, Kyu-Won’s children’s poem and the theory of children’s poem based on ‘the poetry of object’by Francis Ponge who started a new horizon of ‘Poem of things’ and presented poetry with simplicity and difficulty in the early and mid 20th century. In addition, it reviews the unique genre status and individuality of Oh, Kyu-Won’s children’s poem based on the concept of ‘objeu’ that guarantees the gap between language and objects and the playfulness that arises from it while forming the key of poetry of object. Oh, Kyu-Won’s poetry that breaks away from the language solidified with ideas in both poem and children’s poem and orients for transparent language, in particular, when it moves into the children’s poem, is showing the world of poem that seeks the playfulness and the happiness and ‘the world of poem which can be seen with a child’s heart. The playfulness and the happiness at this time, are the concept of ‘objeu’ that Francis Ponge emphasized in the poetry of object, and provide the ground that can review Oh, Kyu-Won’s children’s poem. In addition, it provides the ground that can explain the reason why Oh, Kyu-Won as a fierce modernist has paid attention to the creation of children’s poem along with the poem. The reason can be found in the fact that, unlike the speaker in the poem, who had no choice but to make a relatively serious expression, in the children’s poem, the speaker was able to speak freely as if playing about the world while reducing the burden.
