초록

본 연구는 국가무형문화재를 비롯한 민속문화들이 전승되는 과정에서 필연적으로 담보해야할 지역성 확보와 민속문화와 지역단체와의 상호 협력관계에서 발생하는 기대효과를 밝히고자 시작되었다.
기․예능분야의 민속문화는 크게 2가지로 분류할 수 있다. 하나는 안동하회탈춤과 같이 특정 지역․특정 집단에서 연희가 이루어지던 것이고 다른 하나는 줄타기, 남사당패와 같이 특정 지역에 본거지를 두고 전국 방방곡곡 연희를 펼치던 유랑예인집단을 통해 이루어지던 기․예능이 그것이다. 전자의 경우 그 전승과정에서 지역성에 대한 전승과 연구가 활발하게 이루어지는 편이지만 후자의 경우 지역성보다는 기․예능의 외적인 부분에 대한 전승과 연구가 주류를 이루는 것이 현실이다. 하지만 어느 것이든 그 민속문화의 근간이 되는 지역성에 대한 심도 깊은 논의와 민속 문화가 여러 지역단체들과 어떠한 협력․공생의 관계에서 전승되고 발전되어왔는지에 대한 연구는 민속문화의 연구에 있어 필수적인 부분이다.
국가 및 지자체 지정 무형문화재 자체가 가지는 문화적 창조력 및 문화재 보유지역이 가지는 문화 경쟁력으로 인해 민속문화와 지역단체와의 협력은 새로운 국면을 맞이하고 있다고보아야할 것이다.
이에 본 연구에서는 국가무형문화재 제 58호 줄타기와 과천에 위치한 지역단체와의 협력사례연구를 통해 민속문화에 있어 지역성이 가지는 의미에 대해 연구하고자 한다. 또한 민속문화와 지역단체가 협력을 통해 각기 얻게 되는 기대효과에 대한 연구를 통해 앞으로 민속문화와 지역이 공생하며 나아가야할 방향을 제시한다.

영어초록

This study was initiated to clarify the synergistic effect that arises from mutual cooperation between folk culture and local organizations and securing locality that must be guaranteed in the process of passing on folk culture including national intangible cultural properties.
Folk culture in the field of arts and entertainment can be largely classified into two categories. One is the performed in specific regions and specific groups, such as Andong Hahoe Mask Dance, and the other is the performed through a group of nomadic artists who performed all over the country with their bases in specific regions such as tightrope walking and Namsadangpae.
In the former case, the transmission and research on locality tend to be actively conducted in the process of transmission, but in the latter case, the transmission and research on the external part like skills of the arts is the mainstream rather than the locality. However, an in-depth discussion of the locality that is the basis of the folk culture and the study of the relationship between the cooperation and symbiosis between folk culture and local organizations are essential parts of the study of folk culture.
Because of the cultural creativity of the intangible cultural properties designated by the state and local governments themselves and the cultural competitiveness of the cultural properties holding regions, it should be seen that cooperation with folk culture and local organizations is entering a new era.
Therefore, this study aims to study the meaning of locality in folk culture through tightrope walking and a case study of cooperation with local organizations located in Gwacheon. In addition, through a study on the synergistic effects obtained through cooperation between folk culture and local organizations, it suggests the direction in which folk culture and the region must coexist in the future.
