초록

The purpose of this study is to examine Yeongnam Confucianists' leisure life in those days through Hansi(漢詩:Chinese classical poetry) of Heoju Lee Jong-ak who had been active in Andong during the 18th century, and is to figure out the value for which they sought in the middle of living through this.
As Lee Jong-ak is a figure who had made a life of striving for literary and artistic activities within the region without advancing to government post for his whole life, he is known as having been good at writing & drawing, poem, and Geomungo Sajeol(四絶). His life in this way is well revealed in 『Heojuyugo(虛舟遺稿)』 and 『Heojubugunsansuyucheop(虛舟府君山水遺帖)』, which had been left after he enjoyed boating(船遊) around the Nakdonggang River for 5 days with acquaintances in 1763.
Examining the works that he had left, it can be known about which life a regional confucianist, who didn't go into government service, managed on the basis of the economic power within the district of being possessed as Jaejisajok(在地士族:the Country Nobility). He continued to diversely lead music, horticulture, painting, and sightseeing activities based on the economic strength of being possessed by him.
His leisure activities in this way are interlinked with the values that confucianists had pursued at that time such as loving and enjoying the arts, developing family, respecting and missing ancient sages, and expressing an interest in our history, not merely emphasizing the pleasure function. This results from what was harmonized an interest in that place of the past that had put value within region from long before, and in this place of the present that had been spread among intellects in the 18th century of having been suddenly changed. Through this study, there will be significance in that the mixture of the tradition in Yeongnam at that time and the trend of having been popular in the city of Seoul can be found in an individual's daily life.
