재한조선족 시문학의 형성과 인식의 변모 연구 (A Study on the Formation of the Poetic Literature of South Korea's Choseon-jok and Changes in Perception)

초록

1992년 한중수교 이후 한국으로 귀환한 조선족 시인들은 그들이 겪는 정체성의 혼란과 그것을 극복해내는 과정을 시작품을 통해 드러냈다. 본 연구는 재한조선족 시문학의 형성과정과 변모 양상을 살펴보면서 그들의 귀환 목적, 정체성 혼란의 이유, 그리고 그것을 극복하고 재정립해 나가는 과정을 분석했다.
조선족의 귀환은 외적으로는 노동 이주였지만, 내적으로는 고향에 대한 그리움과 귀향의 욕망 때문이었다. 그들은 중국의 이민족 사이에서 자신들이 지켜온 민족정체성을 긍지로 삼아 고향에 귀환했지만 그들이 자각한 것은 ‘낯선 고향’과 ‘낯선 한국인’이었다. 이는 이데올로기 문제, 경제력의 차이, 각기 지닌 트라우마 등 요소로 초래된 현상이다. 이 과정에서 그들의 긍지가 훼손되는 고통은 아주 심각하다. 이는 아직도 그들을 국적 국가인 중국과 혈통 국가인 한국을 사이에 둔 ‘과계민족’의 딜레마에 빠지게 한다.
그러나 조선족 시인들은 욕망의 좌절과 절망 속에서도 자기성찰을 통해, ‘주체되기’라는 돌파구를 모색하기 시작한다. 이는 자신의 인식을 확장하거나 전환시키지 않고서는 근본 문제를 해소할 수 없다는 통렬한 자각에서 출발한다. 그뿐만 아니라 모든 갈등은 상방의 충돌로 드러나지만 이를 해소하는 길은 각자가 ‘내 몫’을 실천해나가는 것이라고 성찰한다.
이것은 몇몇 시인들이 고통 속에서 모색한 인식의 확장에 대한 시적 형상화로 나타났다. 중요한 것은 이러한 시인들의 시적 모색이 점차 구체적이고 실천적인 방향으로 나아간다는 점이다. 그러한 실천을 통해 형성된 시적 작업이 현재 어떤 발전과정에 놓여 있는지, 그리고 그것의 이상적 지향점이 무엇인지도 밝히려고 한다.

영어초록

The Choseon-jok poets returned to South Korea after the establishment of a diplomatic relationship between South Korea and China in 1992 and have expressed their experiences of overcoming an identity crisis through poetic works. This study reviews the formation of the poetic literature of South Korea's Choseon-jok and the aspects of change reflected in their poems. The paper also analyzes their reason for returning, the causes underlying the identity confusion they suffered, and their efforts to overcome it and re-establish their identity.
From an external perspective, the return of the Choseon-jok can be understood as labor migration; however, from an internal viewpoint, it derived from their deeply rooted nostalgia and a strong homecoming desire. Having realized that they were living in a "strange home" as "strange Koreans," they returned to their home country with the dignity of the Choseon-jok ethnic identity they struggled to preserve among other ethnic peoples in other nations. We can name ideological problems, the economic power gap, and traumas, etc., as the major causes of this phenomenon. Consequently, the Choseon-jok suffered painful experiences that gravely injured their self-esteem. This damage still exerts a strong influence, paralyzing them in a "trans-border ethnic group" dilemma amidst a citizenship conflict between China, the cradle of their nationality, and Korea, their blood nation.
However, despite their frustration and desperation, Choseon-jok poets have made successful breakthroughs regarding "becoming the subject" by means of self-retrospection. It began with an acute awareness that it is impossible to resolve the fundamental problems without expanding or changing individual perceptions. Furthermore, they concluded that although conflicts seem to be consequences of external collisions between the involved parties, the real solution lies in a universal commitment to do "one's own share." This awareness found poetic embodiment in the "expansion of perception," which some poets painfully sought amidst adversity. The important point of note is that their explorations through poetry have gradually become more specific. This study also examines the current status of poetic works containing messages about practices and ideal objectives.
