초록

The film Cyrano Agency is a film adaptation of the french play of the 19th century, Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand. This film uses different methods of adaptation. The aim of this work is to examine the elements that we can find in this movie came from the original work.
First of all, this film presents directly the original work through the portrait of the character, show poster, the movie and the theater. The film adapted and original work introduced in this film are similar and create an effect of inter-relationship. In some passages, Cyrano Agency evokes indirectly through the parody the original text. For example, the spatial structure of the first meeting between the Hee-jung et Sang-yong is similar to that of between Roxane et Chiristian in Cyrano de Bergerac. The role of Byung-hun who saves Hee-jung and Sang-yong corresponds to that of Cyrano that prevents De Guiche who intends to disturb the marriage of Christian et Roxane. When Byung-hun made ​​his confession to Hee-jung without scenario, we find in him the image of Cyrano who reads the letter without looking at the letter in the dark. In addition, this film re-interprets the original text and restructures it by changing the contents and the personnalities of the characters. The question of the relationship between the soul and the appearance turns into that of the relationship between faith and love.
This film evokes and reflects the original text directly and indirectly and at the same time, it creates its own characteristic proper to it so that it transforms and reinterprets the original. Cyrano de Bergerac et Cyrano Agency, the two texts each preserving its own specific value and simultaneously influence each other in the relation of similarity and difference.
