朝鮮朝의 西崑體 수용과 창작 양상 (Acceptance of Seogon Style and a Study of the Writing Style during the Chosun Dynasty)

초록

이 논문은 송초에 흥기했던 서곤체가 우리나라에 수입되어 ‘문인들 사이에서 어떻게 인식하였는가, 그들이 창착한 서곤체 작품은 어떠했는가, 문풍쇄신에도 왜 서곤체의 작품을 창작하였는가’를 개략적으로 밝힌 글이다. 서곤체는 송초의 양억·유균·전유연 등에 의해서 수창한 시체를 말하며 ‘곤체’라고도 한다. 그러나 송대 이후에 만당시인인 이상은을 포괄하는 용어로 인식하기도 하였다. 우리나라 최초로 서곤체를 언급한 고려시대 이인로의 『파한집』에서부터 조선조 문인들은 이상은을 비롯한 후서곤체 작가까지를 포괄하고 있다. 서곤체의 창작기법은 일반적으로 전고의 남용, 화려한 문장 등을 들 수 있다. 조선조 문인들은 「效西崑體」·「效崑體」·「崑體」라는 제목이나 부제로 지어진 것이 대부분인데 이들의 작품을 분석하면, 서곤체의 기법적 특성인 전고의 사용이나 화미한 표현을 그대로 수용하고 있다. 전고의 남용과 화미한 표현은 조선조에 문풍의 쇄신 대상이 되었다. 하지만, 조선조 문인들이 서곤체 작품을 창작하거나 서곤체 시인으로 평가 받는 등 서곤체의 유습이 계속되었다. 전고의 남용은 사대부 문인들의 지적욕구의 발로이며, 화미한 표현은 불우한 자신의 감상적 태도에서 기인한다고 추론된다.

영어초록

This paper briefly covers such topics: how the writers of the Chosun Dynasty considered the ‘Seogon’ style which was ascending during the Song Dynasty and then was introduced to Chosun, how those works that they wrote were, and why they wrote poems in Seogon style while being against the Renovation of Writing Style. Seogon is a poetry style advocated by Yang Eok, Yu Kyun, and Jeon Yu Yeon during the Song Dynasty and is also known as ‘Gon’ style. After the Song Dynasty, however, it was considered to represent Lee Sang Eun, the poet from the Mandang generation. In the Chosun Dynasty, the writers included those works from the Pahanjib written by Lee In roh who was the first Seogon style writer to the works written by Post-Seogon style writers and Lee Sang Eun as well. The writing skills of Seogon style are usually known for the excessive use of authentic precedents and the flowery expressions. Most of the Writings of the Chosun Dynasty were titled and subtitled as follows: ‘Followed and Written in Seogon Style(效西崑體)’, ‘Followed and Written in Seogon Style(效崑體)’, ‘Written in Seogon Style(崑體) skillful features of those writings are the same as those of the Seogon style such as the excessive uses of authentic precedents and flowery expressions. The Renovation of Writing Style during the Chosun Dynasty had focused on the excessive uses of authentic precedents and the flowery expressions. However the writers of the Chosun Dynasty maintained the Seogon style within their works and were recognized as one of the Seogon style poets. It could be inferred that the excessive uses of authentic precedents were expressions of the poet’s desire for knowledge, and the flowery expressions were expressions of their feelings of disadvantage.
