Verbal expression is a direct means of affecting people, and the value of humanities is also embodied via language. By using language, people can move the hearts of others and deliver a desirable and positive image. When proper language education is provided to help members of the society use language to respect one another, they will be able to fight less and build a mature and sound society.
There are vast changes happening in the use of the Korean language including the decline and misuse of honorifics, the universalization of status words, the generalization of feminine expressions, the rising frequency of blunt remarks, the increase of improper uses of English words, and the expanding of wrong words, expressions, and reading by punctuation. This study set out to examine the meanings of language education and propose instructions for three areas influencing language education: home, broadcasting media, and school in order to prevent the society from facing undesirable changes due to the wrong use of language based on the actual state and evaluation of Korean uses.
An analysis of the Korean language through various cases would present more accurate uses of the language to Korean language learners; thus, promoting their accurate and natural understanding of the language as foreigners and offering some useful clues to the research of the language.
Both the Korean and Japanese languages are moving along the same path of changes. It will be essential to make research efforts for the contrast and comparison of changes to these languages.
