초록

As markets in early of Qianlong Period struggled with an issue of “lack liquidity(錢荒)” became a current issue, government issued a great deal of coins as a resolution to the issue during Qianlong Period. With the widespread ‘government issued coins(制錢)’ and circulation of ‘privately issued coins(私鑄錢)’, the stable prosperity of local markets and peasants set a base for economic boom.
The prosperity in late Ming Dynasty by influx of Japanese silver centered in Fujian. But the thing was how to take and use Tael(銀兩) itself by the peasants. Due to the convenience of mobility with Tael, the fact that wealth in a region moved to another region easily caused imbalance among regions and social status. This imbalance contributed to the Fall of Ming Dynasty. Meanwhile, since uplifting of ‘Great Evacuation(遷界令)’ in 1684, as prosperity spread out with re-influx of silver, same issue that is lacking of means for wealth to transfer to peasants’ “lack liquidity(錢荒)”. The resolution to this issue was a circulation of a great amount of ‘government issued coins(制錢)’ and ‘privately issued coins(私鑄錢)’. Through this circulation, the enormous wealth from trade in foreign countries and remote regions transferred to the wealth of peasants for wide prosperity in local market. This is what ‘ Qian-Jia Era(乾嘉盛世)’ means in economic history.
