초록

이 연구에서는 한국 한문고전에 대한 디지털 아카이브와 전문 정보가 구축되고 서비스되고 있는 상황에서 한문 고전 용어에 대한 사전이 부재함을 지적하고, 한국 한문고전 용어사전이 필요하다는 점을 이용자 관점에서의 정책적 필요성, 한국어 역사 기술의 기반이라는 사전학적 필요성, 국내외 한국학 연구자 및 전공자를 위한 학술적 토대로서의 필요성을 근거로 들어 강조하는 데 목적을 두었다.
이러한 필요성에 따라 한문고전 용어사전 편찬을 위한 지향점을 사전의 성격과 사전의 구조를 통해 접근할 수 있다고 보고 사전의 성격을 세울 때 고려해야 할 점과 사전의 구조를 구성할 때 고려해야 할 점을 살펴보았다. 전자에서는 辭典과 事典을 엄밀히 구분하기보다 두 가지 성격을 유연하게 수렴할 필요가 있다는 점을 주장하였다. 또한 편찬자 중심의 사전도 중요하지만, 이용자 중심의 사전에 대해서도 적극적으로 고려해야 하며 표준 독자를 설정함으로써 사전의 성격과 목표를 세울 수 있음을 밝혔다. 사전의 구조에서는 거시 구조와 미시 구조로 나눠서 표제어 선정 범위와 기준, 뜻풀이 구조와 정의 방식, 용례와 관련어 등에 관한 사전학적 쟁점을 검토하였다.

영어초록

In this study, attention is drawn to the absence of a dedicated dictionary of Classical Chinese terminology in Korea, despite the increasing development and availability of digital archives and specialized information services related to Korean classical texts. The study emphasizes the urgent need for such a dictionary from three key perspectives: first, the policy-oriented necessity from the standpoint of users; second, the lexicographical necessity as a foundation for documenting the history of the Korean language; and third, the academic necessity as an essential resource for both domestic and international researchers in Korean studies.
Based on these needs, the study proposes that the direction for compiling a dictionary of terms from Korean Classical Chinese texts can be approached through two primary dimensions: the nature of the dictionary and its structural design. In defining the nature of the dictionary, it argues for a flexible integration of the characteristics of both sajeon (辭典, word-based dictionary) and sajeon (事典, encyclopedia-like dictionary), rather than maintaining a rigid distinction between the two. While the compiler’s perspective remains important, this study stresses the growing significance of a user-centered approach, suggesting that setting a standard readership is essential in shaping both the purpose and scope of the dictionary. For its structural design, lexicographical issues are examined through macro-structure and micro-structure considerations. These include criteria for selecting headwords, methods for defining meanings, explanatory structures, examples, and related terms. Through this analysis, the study provides foundational insights into constructing a comprehensive and user-oriented dictionary of Korean Classical Chinese terminology.
