중국학파 애니메이션과 중국 현대 애니메이션 색채의 차이점 연구 (Research on the Difference of Colors of Animation Between Chinese Schools and Modern Animations in China)

초록

애니메이션 미학에 영향을 미치는 요소와 민족문화를 반영하는 요소는 다양하지만 주제 전달과 문화 표현의 측면에서 색채는 작품의 분위기를 조성하는데 있어서 중요한 요소이다. 1950~1990년대 초의 중국 애니메이션계는 ' 민족풍의 길을 걷는다'라는 슬로건을 내걸고 중국 애니메이션 예술가들이 연구한 중국 전통예술을 선보이며 진정한 중국풍의 모습을 보여주었다. 그러나, 중국 애니메이션은 해외 애니메이션의 영향을 받아 점점 민족성을 잃게되었다. 2015년, 중국 애니메이션은 전환점을 맞았고, 이후 중국 애니메이션이 다시 부흥했다. 그러나 중국학파 애니메이션에 비해 민족성은 결여되었다. 이러한 배경을 바탕으로, 본 연구는 중국학파 애니메이션 30편과 중국 현대 애니메이션 30편을 배경, 인물 2개의 부분으로 나누어 색채 비교분석을 하였다. 색채 프레임을 추출하고, NCS 색채 프레임을 활용해 채도, 명도를 분석한 후, 이를 합쳐 Hue & Tone, 색조도와 IRI 색채 공간을 활용하여 색조분포와 색채 형용사를 분석하여 각각의 색채의 특징에 대해 이해한다. 그 결과, 중국학파 애니메이션의 색채는 ㅅ 사물 자체의 색채에 중점을 두고 있으며, 전체적인 색조는 어두운 편이었고, 애니메이션의 전체 색채 이미지는 우아한, 점잖은, 고상한의 느낌을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 반해, 중국 현대 애니메이션은 서양의 색채 이론을 응용한 것으로, 전체 애니메이션 화면의 색조가 높은 편이기 때문에, 전체적인 색채 이미지는 경쾌한, 내츄럴적, 모던한의 느낌을 주었다.

영어초록

There are diversified factors in animations that influence aesthetics and reflect national cultures. However, it is color that plays the key role on the aspect of theme and culture for the creation of phenomenon. In the early period from 1950 to 1990, a slogan of “walk the road of national style” was called out in the animation industry of China for the exhibition of Chinese traditional art which is the research of animation artists in China and the final exhibition of the true Chinese style. Due to the impact of foreign animations, the animations in China gradually lose national character. It was not until 2015 when a turning point of the animation industry came that the revival of Chinese animation started. However, the national characters conveyed were still insufficient compared with that in the animations from Chinese schools. Based on the above stated background, this research was comprised of two parts which are animation background, character, and others by the comparison between 30 animations from Chinese schools and 30 modern animations in China. The color frames of the two parts are extracted respectively for the analysis on the chroma and lightness with the utilization of NCS color frame. The two parts are combined again for the Hue&Tone Tonal Map and IRI color space to analyze the color tone distribution and the color adjectives in the animations. The attempt is to learn the features of colors in animations from schools and modern animations. The result shows that the colors in animations from schools focus more on the colors of objects themselves with an overall darkness for the tone which brings a sense of elegance, solemness, and old fashion for the presentation of the overall color image. Based on the color theory from the west, the overall color tone for images in modern animations are higher for which the overall color image in these animations appears to be lighter, more natural and modern.
