염불수행과 진언수행의 동이(同異)점에 대한 고찰 (The sameness and difference of Buddhist chanting and mantra training)

초록

본 논문은 “염불과 진언 수행의 같음과 다름”이라는 논제하에, 먼저 염불의 신행을 살펴 봄에 정토삼부경과 논서를 중심으로 염불로 왕생함에, 첫째로 난행도[難行道]로부터 이행도[易行道]가 필요함을 검토하였다. 염불수행의 요체는 신원행[信願行]에 의해서 한량없는 업장을 소멸하는 것이다. 둘째로 삼매를 통해서 견불(見佛)하여 현세에서는 안심입명하고 이고득락함에 아미타불의 지혜를 믿고 왕생극락하여 불퇴전함을 검토하였다. 셋째는 왕생하면 초지에 오르거나 무생법인(無生法忍)과 일생보처(一生補 處)를 거쳐서 구경에 최상의 깨달음인 네 가지 지혜를 체득하여 열반과 왕생성불을 구현함을 살폈다. 다음에 진언의 신행은 육대(六大)와 사만(四曼) 이 삼밀(三密)과 밀접하게 결합한 관계 속에서 수행해 가는 원행(行願)과 승의(勝意), 삼마지(三摩地)가 삼구설법(三句說法)과 결부되어 삼밀을 닦아 나아가면 삼밀가지(三密加持)가 되어서 오지(五智)를 완성하여 즉신성불(卽身成佛) 됨을 검토하였다. 끝으로 염불과 진언의 같고 다름(同異)은 각각 4가지 수행하는 주제와 대상, 방법에 같고 다름을 검토하여 서로의 목적에서 같고, 방법이 다름에 대해서 검토하였다.

영어초록

This thesis, under the thesis of “the sameness and difference between Buddhist chanting and practice of mantra,” this thesis examines the practice of Buddha chanting first, and is reborn as a Buddha chanting centering on the Three Pure Land Sutras and the commentaries. First, the difficult method practiced by professional practitioners(難行道). It was reviewed that it is necessary to practice(易 行道) that is easy for the general public to access. The essence of Buddhist chanting is to eliminate immeasurable karmic obstacles through faith, hope, and practice. Second, through samadhi, one personally saw the Buddha, and in the present world, one believed in the wisdom of Amitabha Buddha in peace and prosperity, and reviewed the non-retirement of rebirth and paradise. Thirdly, upon rebirth, one attains the highest level of enlightenment, the four wisdoms, through the clear awareness of no birth and the achievement of a buddha throughout one's life, realizing nirvana and rebirth. looked at next, the practice of the mantra is the desire to practice in a relationship in which the six elements of existence(六大元 素) and the four maṇḍala(四曼茶羅) are closely combined with the secret actions(三 密) of the body, mouth, and mind. When the three secrets are cultivated, the three fundamental teachings are combined with the three fundamental teachings, the three secrets, and the three secretly respond to each other. I reviewed the process of perfecting the wisdom of the branch Buddha and the attainment of Buddha in the present life(卽身成佛). Lastly, the similarity and difference of Buddhist chanting and mantra are the same and different in the subject, object, and method of each of the four practices, and the same in each other's purpose and different in the method is reviewed.
