전북 임실의 晩翠亭과 제영시 연구 (A Study on Manchijung in Imsil, Jeonbuk and Jeyoung poems)

초록

본고는 晩翠亭의 건립자인 金偉의 생애와 만취정의 건립 과정, 김위와 題詠詩 창작자들과의 관계, 제영시의 특징에 대해 고구하였다.
전북 임실에 소재한 만취정에는 김위의 시 외에 李珥, 奇大升, 高敬命, 林芑, 宋純, 林悌, 權應仁 등의 시가 걸려 있는데, 이들은 16세기 중후반의 학술사와 문단을 주름 잡던 문인들이라는 점에서 눈길을 끈다. 개별 작가의 문집과 김위의 문집인 『晩翠先生文集』 부록에 수록된 만취정 제영시를 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 특징이 드러났다.
첫째, 만취정 제영시를 창작한 이들이 김위와 동시대에 활동한 시인이라는 점과 지역적으로 호남을 주축으로 하면서 당대의 내로라하는 시인이라는 것을 고려할 때, 만취정은 문학의 교류장만이 아니라 지역 시인들의 긴밀한 인적 네트워크를 형성하는 문화의 교류장이었다.
둘째, 「만취정」은 七言律詩로, 김위는 2수를 창작했고, 이 시에 차운한 시는 12제 15수이다. 김위는 뜬구름 같은 영욕을 버리고 조그마한 田畓에 安分知足하는 삶을 추구하였다. 이에 차운한 시들은 김위의 절조를 칭송하면서도 푸른 하늘과 맑은 연못에 착안하여 만취정을 鳶飛魚躍의 天理가 구현되고 있는 공간으로 해석하기도 하였다. 또한 만취정 옆에는 두 그루의 소나무가 있는데, 소나무와 관련된 다양한 故事를 활용하여 김위의 절조를 칭송하는 동시에 시속에 영합하는 세상 사람들을 질타하였다.
셋째, 「晩翠亭10詠」은 만취정 주변의 10가지 풍경을 읊은 시로, 김위의 시에 대해 화답시 형식으로 7명의 시인이 창작하였다. 「平沙曉月」에서는 갈대꽃을 눈발에 비유하거나 달빛과 눈 빛이 다투어 눈부신 새벽을 연출한다고 하는 등 감각적이고 참신한 표현이 돋보였다. 「澗邊蒼松」에서는 소나무의 대표적 이미지인 절조 이외에 솔잎과 솔가지가 연출하는 음악 소리, 단단한 목질을 가진 재목의 이미지를 부각시켰다. 「新店秋砧」과 「鐥淵村燈」은 백성들의 일상을 다룬 시인데, 김위는 정겹고 훈훈한 모습을 노래하고, 林悌와 權應仁은 밤늦도록 세금에 시달리는 고단한 모습을 노래하여 엇갈린 시선이 보였다.
넷째, 산견되어 있는 만취정 제영시를 한 데 모아 분석하는 과정에서 宋純, 林悌, 黃廷吉, 林芑, 鄭淹의 시를 새로 발굴하였다. 奇大升의 「題詠」, 李達의 「次長律韻」처럼 작품의 대상이 모호했던 시가 만취정을 대상으로 읊은 시라는 사실을 밝혀냈다.

영어초록

This study examined the life of Kim Wi(金偉), the builder of Manchijung(Manchi Pavillon), the process of building Machijung, relation- ships among Kim Wi and the creator of Jeyoung poems(poems on a set theme) and the characteristics of Jeyoung poem.
Manchijung located in Imsil, Jeonbuk, the poems by Lee Yi(李珥), Gi Dae-Seung (奇大升), Go Kyung-Myung(高敬命), Im Gi(林芑), Song Sun(宋純), Im Je(林悌), Kwon Woong-In(權應仁), etc. hang on the wall including the poems by Kim Wi, and it attracts the attention in the fact that they were the writers dominated the academic history and the literary circle during the middle and late 16th century. In the results of analyzing the Manchijung Jeyoung poems included in the apprendix of “Collection of Literary Works of Manchi(晩翠先生文集)”, following characteristics were shown.
First, considering that those who composed the Manchijung Jeyoung poems were the comtemporary poets of Kim Wi and were the prominent poets at that time around the Honam region, Manchijung was not only the place of literary exchange but also the place of cultural exchange that formed the close personal network of the regional poets.
Second, “Manchijung” is the seven-syllabic code verse and Kim Wi composed 2 poems and the poems that borrowed the rhymes from these poems were 15 poems with 12 titles. Kim Wi pursued the life living satisfied within the means with the small portion of farmland leaving the glory and shame. Therefore, the poems that borrowed the rhymes used to interpret Manchijung as a space that the natural law that the hawk flies and the fish swims was realized paying attention to the blue sky and clear pond while praising the principle of Kim Wi. In addition, there is two pine trees beside of Manchijung, and the poems praise connecting the beautiful scenery of Manchijung and at the same time, reprimanded the people in the world who accommodate the custom.
Third, “Manchijung 10 Poems(晩翠亭10詠)” poems depicting 10 sceneries around Manchijung and composed by 7 poets in the form of responding poem to the poems of Kim Wi. In “Pyeongsahyowol(平沙曉月)”, the sensuous and fresh expression was distinguished such as comparing the reed flowers to the snow flurries, or moon light and snowlight are producing dazzling daybreak competing each other, etc. In “Ganbyunchangsong(澗邊蒼松)”, the sound of music produced by the pine needles and pine branch and the image of lumber having hard lignum were emphasized besides the intergrity, the representative imahe of pine tree. “Sinjumchuchim (新店秋砧)” and “Sunyunchondeung(鐥淵村燈)” are the poems dealt with the daily life of people and the different view was shown as Kim Wi described the friendly and warm scenes while Im Je and Kwon Eung-In depicted the weary scene of suffering from the tax.
Fourth, in the process of gathering and analyzing the Manchijung Jeyoung poems scattered, the poems by Song Soon, Im Je, Hwang Jung-Gil(黃廷吉), Im Gi, Jung Eom(鄭淹) were discovered. It was identified that poems, of which object was ambiguous, such as “JeYoung(題詠)” by Gi Dae-Seung, “Chajangnyulwoon(次長律韻)” by Lee Dal(李達), etc, were the poem that described the Manchijung.
