초등학교 식품군 활용 융합인재교육(STEAM) 실행연구 (Action Research on STEAM using Food Group in Elementary School)

초록

목적 본 연구는 식품군 활용 융합인재교육(STEAM) 프로그램 개발에 참여한 초등교사들의 융합인재교육에 대한 인식을 살펴보고, 초등학교 저학년에서 구현방안과 발전방향을 모색하는데 목적이 있다.
방법 이를 위해 식품군 활용 융합인재교육 프로그램에 대한 교육과정 및 조리과정 컨설팅을 희망하는 초등학교를 선정하여 6개월에걸쳐 융합인재교육을 실행하였으며, 연구의 최대편차를 극대화하기 위해 ‘의도적 표본추출’ 방법을 통해 융합인재교육의 경험이 있는 역량모델과 융합인재교육 프로그램 적용을 희망하는 수행모델로 구분하여 성찰일지와 인터뷰자료를 주제별로 분류하였다. 또한식품군 활용 융합인재교육 프로그램의 개발체계를 목표수립, 상황제시, 창의적 설계, 감성적 체험, 평가단계로 마련하고 개발에 대한 참여교사들의 집단적 숙의과정을 기록하여 융합인재교육의 가치와 확장을 비판적으로 고찰하였다.
결과 분석결과, 식품군 활용 융합인재교육 프로그램의 설계-실행-생성 측면에서 역량모델 참여교사들은 융합인재교육을 학교공동체가 지향해야 할 수월성(excellence) 교육으로 인식하고 있었으며, 수행모델 참여교사들은 교실에서 실천해야 할 맞춤형(differentiated) 수업으로 인식하고 있었다. 특히 참여교사들은 식품군 활용 융합인재교육 프로그램을 설계하기 위해 교육과정 성취기준을 연계하여 재구성 목표를 설정하고 초등학교 저학년의 교실수업에 효과적인 식품군(고기⋅생선⋅달걀⋅콩류군, 채소군, 물군)의 기초 이해 및 조리실습교육의 절차적 지식과 건강한 식습관 개선 방법 등에 대한 지도활동을 실행하고 있었다.
결론 즉, 참여교사들은 수월성 교육 및 맞춤형 수업을 실행하며 융합인재교육을 논의하고 융합인재교육 프로그램의 가치와 확장에대한 비판적 고찰을 하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

영어초록

Objectives The purpose of this study is to examine the perceptions of the elementary school teachers participated in the development of STEAM education programs using food groups, and to find implementation plans and development directions in the early grades of elementary school.
Methods To this end, elementary schools that wished to consult the curriculum and cooking process for the STEAM education program using the food groups were selected and trained for STEAM education over 6 months.
By dividing the competency model with educational experience and the desired performance model for STEAM education, the reflection log and interview data were classified by topic. In addition, the development system of the STEAM education program, using food groups was prepared in the stages of goal setting, situation presentation, creative design, emotional experience, and evaluation.
Results By recording the collective deliberation process of participating teachers on development, the value and the expansion of STEAM education were critical considered. As a result, in the aspect of design-execution-creation of the STEAM education program using food groups, teacher participating in the competency model recognized STEAM education as excellent education that the school community should aim for. The teachers participating in the performance model recognized it for developing of the STEAM education program at the teacher level in consideration of the characteristics of the classroom and students in the early grades of an elementary school setting reorganization goals in connection with the curriculum achievement standards to design a STEAM education program using food groups. Additionally, guidance activities were conducted on the basic understanding of effective food groups, procedural knowledge of cooking practice education, and ways to improve healthy eating habits for classes in the early grades of elementary school.
Conclusions We found that participating teachers conducted excellent education and differentiated classes, discussed STEAM education, and critically considered the value and expansion of the STEAM education program.
