티베트 天葬 習俗의 生成背景 및 文化的 含意 (The Original backgrounds of Tibetan Celestial Burial and Its Cultural Value)

초록

This paper analyzes the burial custom of the Tibetan through trying the theories and methods of cultural anthropology from the national cultural background and burial custom’s social functions of the Tibetan, and makes and explanation on the national cultural background of burial custom’s production and development of the Tibetan and sums up the social functions of burial custom from the angle ecological environment, Bonism, Buddhism and Zoroastrianism culture. Although the Tibetan have settled in this high the snow, hoeever the laborious and intelligent Tibetan still founded the native religion which belongs to the nationality itself-the Bon and then they inherited and developed the Buddhism. Under the affect of the two teaching the unique formation of the Tibetan culture and the religious activities does more harm than good to the environment.
Today, however, there is no identical answer of its origin and other related problems. Moreover, its cultural connotation and value still need further discussion. The paper analyzed the origin and cultural value of celestial burial from three aspects.
