초록

본 논문은 「계사상」 제4장의 구조와 해석을 통해 『주역』의 학문체계와 易道를 고찰하였다. 「계사상」 제4장은 ‘易’․‘天地之道’․‘天文’․‘地理’․‘幽明’․‘終始’․‘死生’․‘氣’․‘魂’․‘鬼神’․‘神’ 등 『주역』의 핵심적 개념을 온전히 담고 있다. 특히 『주역』의 진리를 함축하고 있는 ‘易’의 철학적 의미를 처음으로 논하고 있다.
제4장 첫 번째 부분에서는 易道의 근원성과 주재성을 논하고, 그것이 八卦와 六爻重卦, 河圖․洛書의 數理로 표상됨을 밝히고 있다. ‘天文과 地理를 관찰하여 幽明의 연고를 아는 것’은 八卦와 연계되고, ‘原始反終의 終始를 통해 죽음과 삶의 말씀을 아는 것’은 六爻重卦를 통해 표상되며, ‘흐르는 혼은 변화가 되어 鬼神의 있는 그대로를 아는 것’은 河圖․洛書와 연계되는 것이다. 이는 「설괘」 제1장에서 논한 數理와 八卦 그리고 六爻重卦의 학문체계와 일치하는 것이다.
두 번째 부분에서는 易道가 천지와 서로 같은 것으로, 인간 본성을 통해 드러남을 논하고 있다. 四象으로 작용하는 易道는 ‘仁에서 돈독한 것이라’의 仁을 통해 인간 본성인 知․義․禮․仁과 연계됨을 추론할 수 있다. 먼저 易이 천지와 같다는 것은 가장 근원적인 의미를 담고 있기 때문에 ‘知’와, 만물과 인간을 진리의 세계로 건너게 해 주는 것은 ‘義’와, 널리 흘러가되 누설되지 않고 天命을 알아서 行하는 것은 ‘禮’와 연계되는 것이다.
마지막으로 세 번째 부분은 천지의 변화와 만물의 완성, 晝夜의 道와 易道는 형체가 없음을 논하여, 「계사상」 제4장의 첫 번째와 두 번째 부분을 종합․정리하고 있다.

영어초록

This thesis divided The first volume of Xici(繫辭) Chapter 4 into three major parts, and examined the academic system of the I-Ching and the content of the moral doctrine of changes (易道).
In the first part, the origin and presiding features of the moral doctrine of changes is discussed, and as through this we can see that it is represented as mathematical principle of the Eight Diagrams; the Providence of Guàxiàng, and Hetu-Luoshu. “Looking up contemplates the brilliant phenomena of heavens and looking down examines the definite arrangements of the earth, thus he knows the causes of darkness and light” is connected with Eight Diagrams, and “He traces things to their beginning and follows them to their end, thus he knows what can be said about death and life” is represented through Providence of Guàxiàng, and “the wandering away of the soul produces the change, thus he knows the characteristics of the anima and animus” is linked to the Hetu-Luoshu.
In the second part, the moral doctrine of changes is shown to be the same as Heaven and Earth, and you can see the four figures of the moral doctrine of changes which unfold in Heaven and the Earth.
It can be inferred that the moral doctrine of changes, which acts as four figures linked to knowledge (知), righteousness (義), the proprieties (禮) , love(仁), is the reason for human nature through the benevolence of “and hence he can love”. First, “There is a similarity between him and heaven and earth” contains the most fundamental meaning, and so it is connected with “knowledge”. “His knowledge embraces all things and his course is helpful to all under the sky” is connected with “righteousness”, and ‘He acts according to the exigency of circumstances without being carried away by their current” is linked to “the proprieties”. The moral doctrine of changes is revealed through human nature, and humans are aware of the truth and follow the four virtues.
Finally, in the third part, the first and second parts of Chapter 4 of “The first volume of Xici” are summarized by discussing the change of the Heaven and the Earth and the completion of all things, and the lack of shape in the way of the day and night and the moral doctrine of changes.
From the above, it can be seen that the moral doctrine of changes is the metaphysical person and the president who transcends the law of the heavenly earth, and is the same as the heavenly earth, which is revealed through human nature. In general, the I-Ching is understood as a book that clarifies the laws of nature, heaven, and Earth but this is the standpoint of physicalness and remains in phenomenological thought.
