초록

본 연구는 자동차 서비스 복합단지 개발 초기 단계에 있는 국내 상황을 고려하여 제도적 기반 및 복합단지에 대한 부족한 이해를 해결하고 베이밸리 메가시티의 지역적 특성과 산업적 잠재력을 바탕으로 자동차 서비스 복합단지의 입지 타당성을 분석하고자 한다. 글로벌 산업 환경의 변화와 더불어 자동차 산업은 자율주행차, 전기차, 수소차 등 친환경 미래 모빌리티 기술로의 전환이 가속화되고 있으며, 이는 자동차 서비스 분야에서 새로운 패러다임을 요구하고 있다. 소비자들은 단순히 차량 구매를 넘어 고도화된 유지보수 서비스와 쾌적한 환경에서 제공되는 원스톱 서비스를 기대하고 있다. 충청남도 천안·아산 강소연구개발특구는 미래형 자동차 융복합 부품을 특화 분야로 설정하며, 한국자동차연구원을 중심으로 글로벌 자동차 산업 클러스터로 발전하고 있다. 더불어 충남과 경기도가 협력하여 추진 중인 베이밸리 메가시티는 자율주행차, 친환경차 등 미래 모빌리티 산업의 융복합 혁신 허브 구축을 목표로 하고 있다. 천안시는 70만 명 인구와 37만대의 자동차 등록 대수를 기록하며 아산시는 39만 명의 인구와 21만 대의 자동차 등록 대수를 기록하였다. 이러한 인구 및 자동차와 관련한 지리적·산업적 여건은 자동차 서비스 복합단지 개발의 타당성을 뒷받침하는 중요한 배경으로 작용한다. 또한 자동차 구매 소비자도 덥고 추운 날씨로부터 자유로운 장소에서 전시된 차량을 볼 수 있는 쾌적한 환경과 수도권과 뛰어난 접근성, 풍부한 인적 자원, 원스톱 서비스가 제공되는 곳을 선호한다. 충남 아산만 권역의 베이밸리 메가시티 프로젝트와 연계하여 자동차 서비스 복합단지 개발 가능성과 효과를 분석하고 설문 조사한 결과, 관련 분야 경력자들은 천안시를 가장 선호했으며, 이는 경부고속도로와의 연계성이 주요 이유로 나타났다. 이러한 복합단지는 지역 경제 활성화, 기술 혁신, 주민 삶의 질 향상에 긍정적 영향을 미칠 것으로 기대되며, 지역 산업 생태계 강화와 국가 경제의 지속 가능성을 확보하는 데 중요한 역할을 할 것으로 보인다. 본 연구는 특정 시점과 충청남도 5개 시군을 중심으로 이루어졌기에 결과의 일반화에는 한계가 있다. 또한, 남성 응답자의 비율이 여성보다 높아 결과가 남성 이용자의 관점에 치우칠 가능성이 있다는 점도 유의할 필요가 있다. 향후 연구에서는 자동차 서비스 복합단지 입지 변화 추이를 보다 상세히 분석하고, 설문 조사를 다양한 전문가 집단과 현직 자동차 영업사원을 대상으로 확대해 실시하여 보다 객관적이고 포괄적인 결과를 도출할 수 있을 것이다.

영어초록

This study aims to analyze the locational feasibility of automotive service complexes by addressing the lack of understanding and institutional foundation in the early stages of development in Korea. It leverages the regional characteristics and industrial potential of the Bay Valley Mega City project. With the global industrial environment evolving, the automotive industry is accelerating its transition to eco-friendly future mobility technologies such as autonomous vehicles, electric vehicles, and hydrogen vehicles, demanding a new paradigm in the automotive service sector. Consumers now expect advanced maintenance services and one-stop solutions in comfortable environments, beyond mere vehicle purchases. The Cheonan-Asan R&D Special Zone in Chungcheongnam-do specializes in future automotive convergence components and is developing into a global automotive industry cluster, centered on the Korea Automotive Technology Institute. Moreover, the Bay Valley Mega City project, a collaboration between Chungcheongnam-do and Gyeonggi-do, aims to establish a convergence innovation hub for future mobility industries such as autonomous and eco-friendly vehicles. Cheonan records a population of 700,000 and 370,000 registered vehicles, while Asan has 390,000 residents and 210,000 vehicles. These geographic and industrial conditions serve as critical factors supporting the feasibility of automotive service complex development. Additionally, vehicle buyers prefer facilities that provide comfortable environments to view vehicles regardless of weather, excellent accessibility to the metropolitan area, abundant human resources, and comprehensive one-stop services. This study analyzed the feasibility and potential impact of developing automotive service complexes in connection with the Bay Valley Mega City project in the Asan Bay region. Survey results showed that experienced professionals preferred Cheonan, primarily due to its connectivity with the Gyeongbu Expressway. Such complexes are expected to positively impact regional economic revitalization, technological innovation, and residents' quality of life, playing a vital role in strengthening local industrial ecosystems and ensuring the sustainability of the national economy. However, the study has limitations, as it focuses on specific timeframes and five cities and counties in Chungcheongnam-do, making generalization difficult. Additionally, the higher proportion of male respondents compared to females suggests a potential bias toward male users' perspectives. Future research should analyze trends in locational changes for automotive service complexes in more detail and expand surveys to include diverse expert groups and current automotive sales personnel for more objective and comprehensive results.
