복합 인지향상프로그램이 여성 노인의 치매위험인자에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of the Complex Cognitive Enhancement Program on the Cognitive Functions, Depression Indexes, and the Dementia Risk Factors of Elderly Women)

초록

본 연구의 목적은 복합인지향상프로그램이 여성 노인의 치매위험인자에 미치는 영향을 규명하는 것이다. 본 연구의 참가자들은 간이정신상태검사 결과 치매관련 약물을 복용중이거나 치매판정을 받은 자를 제외한 65세 이상 여성 노인 25명을 대상으로 하여 실험군(n=13)과 대조군(n=12)으로 무선배치 하였다. 실험군의 복합인지향상프로그램은 인지기능 6개 하위영역에 운동이 결합된 프로그램으로서 총 12주간 주 2회로 매회 90분간(45분: 인지프로그램, 45분: 운동프로그램) 진행하였다. 대조군은 인지기능 6개 하위영역으로 이루어진 프로그램을 진행하였으며, 실험군과 동일한 기간과 시간동안 진행하였다. 프로그램 전․후 측정항목은 인지기능(MMSE-DS), 우울지수(GDS)와 혈중지질농도(TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C)를 측정하였다. 본 연구의 자료분석은 SPSS/PC Ver 18.0을 이용하여 실험처리를 통해 얻어진 모든 변이에 대해 평균과 표준편차를 산출하였다. 집단 간 차이검증은 사전검사값을 공변량(covariance)으로 한 공분산분석(ANCOVA)으로 분석하였는데 반응변수에 영향을 미칠 것으로 판단되는 연속성 변수의 효과를 고려하였으며, 유의수준은 .05에서 실시하였다. 이상의 연구절차를 통해 얻은 결과는 실험군의 인지기능(MMSE-DS), 우울지수(GDS)와 혈중지질농도 중 TG, LDL-C에 긍정적인 변화를 준다는 것을 알 수 있었다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of the complex cognitive enhancement program on the risk factors of dementia for elderly women. For this, 25 elderly women aged 65 or above have been randomly assigned to the experiment group (n=13) and the control group (n=12), excluding those who take medication for dementia or who were diagnosed with dementia following the mono-mental state examinations. The experiment group was instructed to engage in the complex cognitive enhancement program comprised of six subdomains of cognitive function plus exercise with frequency of twice a week, 90 minutes per session (45 minutes: cognitive program, 45 minutes: exercise program) for 12 weeks in total while the control group was told to follow the instructions of the same program comprised of six subdomains of cognitive function only with the same period and duration as those of the experiment group. The measurement items before and after the implementation of the program include the mini-mental status examination optimized for screening dementia(MMSE-DS), geriatric depression scale(GDS) and the blood lipid and cholesterol levels (TC, TG, LDL-C, and HDL-C). The study has calculated the means and standard deviations for all experimental variables obtained through the experimental process using the SPSS/PC Ver 18.0. Analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) has been used to verify the differences between the groups in consideration of the effect of continuous variable with the significance level of .05. This research analysis has found that the program has a positive effect on enhancing the mini-mental status examination optimized for screening dementia(MMSE-DS), geriatric depression scale(GDS) and TG and LDL-C among the blood lipid and cholesterol levels of the experiment group.
