陰崖 李耔 「自敍」 硏究 －「自敍」의 장르적 특성과 文學觀의 경향을 중심으로－ (A Study on eum-ae(陰崖) Lee Ja(李耔)’s autobiographical preface -focused on the genre meaning of autobiographical preface andhis view of literature-)

초록

본고는 陰崖 李耔가 쓴 「自敍」에 대한 연구이다. 그의 「자서」를 다양한 각도에서 살펴보기 위해 자서 장르, 인접 시기의 자서들, 동시대 文學論의 맥락 속에 「자서」를 놓은 뒤, 「자서」의 장르적 성격, 自己敍事로서의 특성, 이자가 「자서」를 통해 보여주는 문학관의 경향을 고찰하였다. 그 결과 다음과 같은 사실을 알게 되었다.
첫째, 자서 장르를 자기서사의 여타 하위 갈래와 구별시키는 內包的 속성은 序文과 자기서사가 결합된 형태라는 점이다. 또한 자서 장르는 저자 자신의 일생 事迹을 서술한다는 공유점을 통해 그 外延을 자기서사 대부분의 장르에까지 확장할 수 있다. 이자의 「자서」는 世系-生平-總評으로 구성된 전반부와 서문의 성격을 띤 후반부로 구성되어 있으므로, 그 특성상 자서 장르의 고유한 성향에 가깝다. 둘째, 이자는 특정한 시점에서 자신의 이상을 말하기보다, 삶 전반을 반성적으로 성찰하며 인생의 주요 계기에서 촉발된 사유와 감정을 서술하기 위해 「자서」를 썼다. 이와 같은 태도가 자기서사로서 「자서」를 年代記的 記述, 체념과 좌절, 반성과 성찰이 교직된 글로 만들었다. 셋째, 性理學의 의리와 수양을 중시하던 己卯士林의 일원이었던 이자는 문학관 역시 그들과 닮았다. 특히 내면의 수양을 중시하는 詩道와 詩敎를 강령으로 삼아, 내용과 형식의 조화 및 性情之正을 중시하고, 과도한 修辭를 비판하는 태도에서 부각되었다.
이로써 볼 때, 반성과 성찰을 통해 이자 자신은 물론, 독자에게도 자기를 돌아보는 계기를 만들어주었고, 자기서사와 서문이 결합된 자서의 계보를 이었으며, 儒家的 文學觀을 계승해서 전수하는 역할을 했다는 점이 이자의 「자서」에서 찾을 수 있는 의미이다.

영어초록

This paper focuses on a study on Lee Ja(李耔)’s autobiographical preface. In order to examine his autobiographical preface from various angles, I placed his autobiographical preface in the context of the genre, autographical prefaces in the adjacent period, and contemporary literature theory. And then I studied characteristics of autobiographical preface, characteristics as self narrative, and characteristics of view of literature that Lee Ja shows through his autobiographical preface. With a result that there are following features.
First, an implicit attribute that distinguishes autographical preface from other genres is that it is a combination of preface and self narrative. In addition, the autographical preface genre can extend the story to most genres of self narrative through the commonality of describing the author’s life history. Since the autographical preface is composed of the first half of ‘the family line-lifetime description-general review’ and the second half of the preface, it is close to the inherent inclination of the genre. Second, rather than addressing his ideals at a specific point in time, he wrote an autographical preface to reflect on the whole life and to describe the thoughts and emotions triggered by the main moments of life. This attitude made his autographical preface a narrated essay in chronological narrative, resignation and frustration, reflection and reflection. Third, Lee, Ja, who was a member of Gimyosarim(己卯士林) that emphasized the neo-confucianism and the view of literature, also resembles them. In particular, it was emphasized in the attitude of criticizing excessive rhetoric, focusing on harmony of content and form, and nature rightness, with the way of poetry and the direction of poetry that emphasize inner discipline.
Thus, through self-examination and reflection, he created an opportunity to look back on himself and his readers, as well as the genealogy of autobiographical preface combined with self narrative and the preface, and he inherited and inherited the neo-confucian view of literature. This is the meaning found in autobiographical preface.
