「찬미받으소서」에 근거한 생태 윤리 교육의 방향에 대한 연구 - 통합 생태론과 습관 형성 교육을 중심으로 - (A Study on the Direction of Ecological Ethics Education based on Laudato Si’ - Focusing on Integral Ecology and Habit Formation Education -)

초록

현재 지구는 다양한 차원의 생태 위기를 겪고 있고, 이런 생태 위기를 해결하기 위한 다양한 차원의 해결 방안 역시 모색되고 있다. 그 가운데 가장기초적인 것이 바로 올바른 생태 윤리 의식의 확립이며, 이는 근원적이고 실제적인 생태 윤리 교육을 기반으로 한다. 생태 위기는 하나의 원인에서 출발하지 않았기에 그 해결 역시 하나의 방안으로 해결하지 못한다. 따라서 과학, 철학, 종교 등 다양한 학문적 접근과 환경적, 경제적, 사회적, 문화적, 일상생활의 차원 등 총체적 차원의 접근으로 생태 위기의 원인을 진단하고 그해결 방안을 모색하는 「찬미받으소서」의 통합 생태론을 깊이 있게 고찰함으로써, 더 근원적인 관점에서 생태 위기의 원인을 진단하고 그 해결 방안을모색할 수 있다. 이처럼 생태 위기를 절감하는 오늘의 세대에게 생태 윤리교육은 다른 그 무엇보다도 중요한 가치와 의미를 갖는다. 따라서 개인적 차원과 공동체적 차원에서 ‘생태적 회개’와 ‘생태 영성’을 도모하고, 단순히 관련 정보 제공이나 생태 위기에 대한 인식을 제공하는 데 머물지 않고, 매일의 삶 안에서 생태 존중의 삶을 살아갈 수 있도록 인도하는 「찬미받으소서」 의 습관, 덕, 양심 형성 교육을 실시함으로써, 지금 이 세대에게 더 효과적이고 실제적인 방법으로 생태 윤리 교육을 시행할 수 있다. 이에 본고는 「찬미받으소서」, 특히 137-162항에 나타난 통합 생태론과 209-215항에 나타난 습관 형성 교육을 중심으로 생태계 보전을 위한 더 근원적이고 실제적인 생태윤리 교육의 방향을 모색하였고, 이를 바탕으로 ‘다학제적 접근, 전방위적 교육, 교육 과정의 구조화, ESG 교육 활성화’를 제안하였다. 통합 생태론과습관 형성 교육을 중심으로 「찬미받으소서」에 근거한 생태 윤리 교육의 방향을 제시하는 본 연구를 통해 통합 생태론과 습관 형성 교육에 기초한 생태 윤리 교육의 필요성과 중요성에 대한 사회 저변의 공감대를 형성하고, 이를 한국 교육계에 확산할 수 있는 계기를 마련하기를 기대한다.

영어초록

Currently, the Earth is experiencing numerous ecological crises at various levels, with solutions to these crises being sought to resolve them. The most basic of these is the establishment of correct ecological ethics based on fundamental and practical ecological ethics education. Since the ecological crisis does not start from a single cause, it cannot be resolved with a single solution.
The integral ecology of Laudato Si’ therefore diagnoses the cause of the ecological crisis and seeks solutions through various academic approaches such as science, philosophy, and religion, and a holistic approach across environmental, economic, social, cultural, and daily life dimensions. By examining integral ecology in depth, we can diagnose the causes of the ecological crisis from a more fundamental perspective and seek suitable solutions. For the current generation -composed of people acutely aware of the ecological crisis- ecological ethics education has greater value and meaning than anything else. Laudato Si’ promotes ecological conversion and ecological spirituality at the individual and community levels; this encyclical does not simply provide relevant information or awareness of the ecological crisis, but instead, promotes a life of respect for the ecology in daily life. By imparting education on forming habits, virtue, and conscience suggested in Laudato Si’, ecological ethics education can be implemented in a more effective and practical way for the current generation. Accordingly, this study sought a more fundamental and practical direction for ecological ethics education for ecosystem conservation, focusing on the integral ecology shown in Laudato Si’, particularly paragraphs 137-162, with habit formation education presented in paragraphs 209-215. Based on this, multidisciplinary approach, all-round education, systematizing educational process, and a revitalization of ESG education were proposed. Through this study, which presents the direction of ecological ethics education based on Laudato Si’, we hope to reach a consensus at the base of society on the necessity and importance of ecological ethics education that is based upon integral ecology and habit formation education. We hope to provide an opportunity to form and spread this among the Korean educational community.
