초록

Seung-woo Lee has been recognized for securing a unique position in the history of Korean literature on the back of consistent individuality for the past 30 years. His novels are extremely ideological and speculative at the same time. They also portray a Christian view of the world in details pursuing a metaphysical theme of transcendence. His literary trends has been continued today since his first work Ericjikton’s Portray.
The study is focused on examining Seung-woo Lee’s creation as prophetic activities aimed to deliver god’s will. Prophet is not confined to a foreteller. It includes a person who speaks on behalf of others. In this regard, Seung-woo Lee is a seeker who wants to deliver god’s message in the form of a novel, a fiction aimed to communicate to readers. His prophetic revelations have been consistently found in his novels ranging from The Other Side of Lif’ to An Old Diary. In one word, Seung-woo Lee’s novel was expanded by acquiring a centripetal force in The Other Side of Life, and it was fundamentally integrated by the force. In order to define such novelistic characteristics, the study is focused on explaining originality of Seung-woo Lee’s novels centering on his unique writing method of Strategic Disclosure of What is Hidden, content characteristics of Escape from and Return to Hometown and Christian pursuit of Desire for the First State.
