초록

The study looked into the Sijo of Moosan Jo Oh-Hyun through Carl Jung's theory of psychological types. Jo Oh-Hyun is a great monk who achieved self-realization through continual refining process while he lives as a seeker after truth.
Carl Jung emphasized that a lot of effort rather than a natural inclination is necessary in order to live as a successful man. However, the thing which Jung emphasized based on his theory is that why human beings are different and why human beings should be different from each other. Human beings are different in thinking that what is more important is the problem of value. He said that it is not desirable attitudes to consider persons of rational tendency as highly and persons of irrational tendency as lowery. This Carl Jung's theory of human nature, good reach to that much of the Zen poem.
A feeling of secular staring is showed well in Jo's initial lyric Sijo. The emission of emotions, however, does not end there, and tries a foregrounding of object. The poet expresses the feeling of sadness elegantly through visual and olfactory image. This in turn showed Moosan Simwoodo series which reach to understanding by developing thought of mental functioning through practice of seeker after truth. Works of full-scale Sunkijo show results of the perfect practice and thought of mental functioning. Such thoughts proceed to self-realization process through intuition which is the last step of Carl Jung's four functions. Like all religions it emphasize that the important thing is to throw away obstinacy and to realize true ego. Jo's works also connect to high level of intuition which achieves self-realization by throwing away obstinacy about external matter and turning attention to internal matter.
In this way, Carl Jung's four mental functioning touches to Buddha's equalitarianism. Because the position of human being is not determined by bloodline at the time of born but by only performance. The word of Buddha means a person of awakening. To gain an insight into persons' suffering four mental functioning is equally needed. We can observe the real sample of training these four functioning by performance, purifying secular wounds, developing thought functioning and proceeding to world of enlightenment through Jo's Sijo.
