은퇴 축구선수의 도민 종합체육대회 참가의 의미 (The Meaning of Retired Footballer's Participation in the Domin Sports Contest)

초록

본 연구는 은퇴 축구선수들이 도민 종합 체육대회에 참가의 의미를 알아보기 위하여 질적 연구 가운데 하나인 사례연구를 통하여 수행하였다. 다른 대회와 마찬가지로 엘리트 현역 선수들이 참여하는 도민 종합 체육대회의 축구 종목은 은퇴선수들이 대회에 참여하기때문에 또 다른 의미를 가질 수 있다. 한편, 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 비확률적 표집법중 유목적 표집법을 통하여 전라남도Y군에서 도민체육대회에 참여하는 은퇴선수 7명을 연구 참여자로 선정하였다. 자료수집방법은 심층면담과 유소년 축구와 관련된 문헌및 각종 보고서, 기사를 중심으로 자료수집을 하였다. 자료수집 기간은 2019년 3월부터 5월까지 3개월간 실시하였다. 이상의 연구 과정을 거쳐 도출된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 은퇴선수들이 도민체육대회에 참가하는 이유로서 유대관계 형성 및 유지와 축구선수로서의 지위 회복이다. 유대관계 형성 및 유지로는 지역 내에서 새로운 진로전환과 사회적 적응을 위해 축구를 통해 알고 지내온 주변지인들과의 긍정적인 관계를 통해 보다 나은 사회적응을 위한 매개체로 활용하고 있었다. 축구선수 지위 회복은 비록 은퇴는 했지만, 도내 가장 큰 체육대회에 출전하면서 스트레스 해소와 삶의 동기부여가 된다는 것이다. 둘째, 도민체육대회 참여를 위한 준비와 경험으로서 선수로서의 준비와 타 지역과의 경쟁을 위한 많은 준비를 한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 우선 대회에 참여하는 선수들이 비록 비등록 선수들이 대회에 참여하지만 오랜 기간 선수로서 경험을 가지고 있기에 대회의 수준이 높아서 그에 맞는 준비과정을 철저히 준비하고 있었다. 또한, 자신들의 고장을 대표해 시합에 출전하기 때문에 타 지역과의 경쟁에서 승리하기 위한 다양한 방법의 적용과체계적인 준비와 대비를 하고 있었다. 마지막으로 은퇴 축구선수들의 도민체전 참가의 의미이다. 도민체육대회 참가를 통해 지역사회에 기여하고 축구인으로서의 정체성을 꾸준히 유지할 수 있다는 것이다. 우리나라 지방자치단체는 각각의 지역마다 상황이 다르지만연구를 실시한 전라남도 Y군은 지역 내 체육 우수장학금과 후원조직이 잘 갖추어져 있어 연구참여자들이 많은 지원을 받으면 운동할수 있었다. 이로 인해 지역사회에 대한 기여 또는 스포츠 활성화를 위해 도민체육대회을 비롯한 각종 대회에 참여함으로서 자신이 가지고 있는 재능을 지역사회에 기부하는 것이다. 다음은 도민체전 참여를 통해 자신의 정체성을 정립하고 새로운 환경에서의 적응과동기부여가 되기 때문이다. 이상의 결과를 통해 지역 도민체전은 은퇴선수들에게 다양한 의미와 삶의 활력소가 되는 것을 알 수 있다. 하지만 도민체육대회와 같은 준 엘리트 선수들이 참여할 수 있는 대회가 많지 않다는 것에 연구 참여자들이 가장 안타까워하는부분이었다.

영어초록

This study was conducted through a case study, one of the qualitative studies, in order to find out the meaning of retired footballers participating in the Domin Sports Festival. As in other competitions, the football event of the provincial and civilian general sports competition involving elite active athletes could have another meaning as retired athletes participate in the competition. Meanwhile, seven retired athletes who participated in the Domin Sports Competition were selected as participants in the research in Y-gun, Jeollanam-do in order to achieve the purpose of this study. The data collection method was based on literature, various reports, and articles related to in-depth interviews and youth The data collection period was conducted for three months from March to May 2019. The results obtained through the above research process are as follows. First, the reason why retired players participate in the Domin Sports Festival is forming and maintaining ties and restoring their status as soccer players. The formation and maintenance of ties was used as a medium for better social response through positive relationships with acquaintances who had known through soccer for new career transitions and social adaptations within the region. The restoration of football status, though retired, has enabled him to regain his status as a footballer by competing in the largest athletic competition in the province. Second, as a preparation and experience for participation in the Domin Sports Festival, I could see that I prepare a lot for my preparation as a player and for competition with other regions. First of all, the athletes participating in the competition were thoroughly prepared for the preparation process as the level of the competition was high since the unregistered players participated in the competition but had long experience as a player.
Do-han was preparing and preparing himself for the systematic preparations and application of various methods to win the competition with other regions, as he will compete on behalf of his faults. Lastly, it means that retired players will participate in the provincial sports competition. They say that by participating in the provincial sports competition, they can contribute to the local community and maintain their identity as a footballer. Although the situation is different for each local government, Y-gun, Jeollanam-do, which conducted the research, was well equipped with the sports scholarship and sponsorship organization in the area, so that research participants could exercise if they received a lot of support.
This is why they donate their talents to the community by contributing to the community or participating in various competitions, including the Domin Sports Festival, in order to promote sports. This is because Daum establishes its identity through participation in the provincial government sports competition and becomes adaptable and motivated in the new environment. The above results show that the local domicile competition is a diverse meaning and a vital part of life for retirees. However, research participants were most regretful that there are not many competitions where semi-elite athletes like the Do-min Sports Festival can participate.
