무용전공자가 경험한 유아무용지도 과정의 난점 분석을 통한 개선 방향 탐색 (A Study on Improvement Direction for Infant Dance Instruction Courses through Analysis of the Difficulties Experienced by Dance Majors)

초록

이 연구는 무용전공자들이 유아무용지도 과정에서 경험한 난점 분석을 통해 유아무용교육의 개선 과제를 탐색하는데 목적을 두고 4년제 대학에서 무용과 졸업 후 유아교육 관련 기관에서 현재까지 4년 이상 유아무용지도자로 활동한 경력을 가진 8인을 대상으로 심층면담을 통한 질적연구로 분석하였다. 이러한 연구 목적의 달성을 위해 심층면담을 통해서 도출된 자료는 전문가 회의를 통해 분석하였다. 이에 따라 도출된 결과는 크게 3가지 대주제로 범주화되었고, 그 주제는 ‘유아무용 지도자 자격과정 및 양성과정의 난점’, ‘유아무용 지도방식 및 활동지속의 난점’, ‘유아무용 지도자 활동에서 환경적 난점’으로 분류되었으며 각 대주제별로 범주화된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 무용전공자가 경험한 ‘유아무용 지도자 자격과정 및 양성과정의 난점’에 대한 내용은 ‘자격증 발급기관의 운영방식’과 ‘지도자 양성기관의 교육내용’에 대한 난점으로 나타났다. 둘째, 무용전공자가 경험한 ‘유아무용 지도방식 및 활동지속의 난점’은 수업과정에서 ‘지도자의 대처 방법’, ‘지도자의 전문성 부족’, ‘유아무용지도자로서 활동지속의 한계’에 대한 내용으로 나타났다. 셋째, 무용전공자가 경험한 ‘유아무용 지도자 활동에서 환경적 난점’은 ‘교육기관과의 마찰’, ‘지도자 파견기관과의 마찰’, ‘학부모와의 마찰’에 대한 내용으로 나타났다. 이 연구의 결과를 종합적으로 분석해 보면 무용전공자들은 유아무용지도 과정에서 경험한 난점에 대해 다각도의 관점에서 인식하고 있을 뿐만 아니라 그 개선 방안도 함께 제시할 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 이 연구에서 무용전공자들은 이러한 난점들에 대해 사회적, 제도적 관점에서 해결해야 하는 문제로 볼 수도 있지만 무용전공자들이 유아무용교육의 올바른 교육적 가치 실현 차원에서 지도자로서의 책임감과 전문적 자질 함양을 통해 유아무용지도 활동에 대한 난점들을 능동적으로 해결하려는 자세와 노력으로 난점 개선에 중요한 역할을 할 수 있음을 시사한다. 이러한 결과는 향후 유아무용지도자로 준비하는 교육생이나 활동 중인 지도자들과 유아무용교육 관련기관의 종사자들에게 유용한 자료로 활용되길 기대한다.

영어초록

The purpose of this study is to explore the improvement tasks for early childhood dance education by analyzing the difficulties experienced by dance major students in the process of infant dance instruction. This study was carried out through qualitative research using the in-depth interviews of 8 persons who have been working as infant dance leaders for 4 years or more in an institute related to early childhood education after graduating from a 4 year college. The data derived through in-depth interviews was analyzed through expert meetings in order to achieve the purpose of this study. Accordingly, the results were categorized into three broad categories. The themes are ‘Difficult points in the qualification process and training course for infant dance leaders’, ‘Difficult points with continuing activities and guidance in infant dance instruction’, and ‘Difficult points in the environment for the activities of infant dance leaders’. The results of for each main category are as follows: First, the contents in ‘Difficult points in the qualification process and training course for infant dance leaders’that the dance majors experienced appeared as ‘Difficulty in the way of operating the certificate issuing organization’ and ‘Difficulty with the educational contents of the leader training institute’. Second, the ‘Difficult points with continuing activities and guidance in infant dance instruction’appeared as ‘How leaders cope’, ‘Lack of leaders’ professionalism’, and ‘Limit of continuous activities as a leader of infant dance’ in the course of the lesson. Third, the ‘Difficult points in the environment for the activities of infant dance leaders’that the dance majors experienced were found to be ‘Friction with educational institutes’, ‘Friction with institutions that dispatched the leaders’, and ‘Friction with parents of students’. A comprehensive analysis of the results of this study showed that dance major students not only recognized the difficulties they experienced in the process of teaching infant dancing, but also suggested ways to improve them. In this study, dance major students can regard these difficulties as a problem to be solved in terms of social and institutional viewpoints. It shows, however, dance major students can play an important role in improving these difficulties with the attitude and effort to solve them by developing responsibilities and professional qualities as leaders in realizing the educational value of infant dance education. I hope that these results will be used as a valuable resource in the future for students who are preparing to become infant dance leaders, leaders in active roles, and those who are in institutes related to infant dance education.
