초록

Aerobic capacity of soccer players is closely correlated with player's performance during matches. Evaluation of aerobic capacity in adolescent soccer players is important not only for assessing individual's physical fitness but for predicting athlete's potentiality. Aerobic capacity of soccer players can be examined either in the laboratory or field settings. Selection of a best fit protocol for evaluating adolescent soccer player's aerobic capacity in the field is important since it can guarantee an accurate monitoring of the athletes. However, those protocols only validated for adult elite soccer players can not be applied to the adolescents. The field methods should be throughly examined and validated whether that can be suitable for adolescents. The present study examined the status of aerobic capacity of adolescent soccer players and introduced various field methods.
Based on the review of the literatures, although adolescent's aerobic capacity is comparable to adults, the evaluation modality should not be applied in same manner. And the modality for the adolescent should be throughly examined before the application. Hoff Test, Yo-Yo Field Test, Shuttle Run Test, and Ekblom Circuit Test appear to be the potential field tests for adolescent. But it also has to be validated and possible new methods have to be developed.
