무인 자율 자동차에 대한 긍·부정 유튜브 동영상의 시청자 인식 유형 (Types of Viewer Perceptions of Positive and Negative YouTube Videos about Autonomous Vehicles)

초록

(연구 배경 및 목적) 과학기술의 발전으로 무인 자율 주행 기술은 충돌 사고 및 주차 필요성을 줄이고, 운전할 수 없는 사람들에게 이동성을 제공하는 도시공간과 교통 시스템의 효율적 혁신 대안으로 주목받고 있다. 그러나 이러한 무인 자율 주행 기술의 확산과 도입 과정에서는 여러 가지 부정적인 측면이 대두되고 있다. 특히, 자율 주행 시스템의 완전한 안전성과 기술적 한계, 그리고 사람과의 상호작용에서 발생할 수 있는 문제들이 주요 관심사로 떠오르고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 무인 자율 주행차에 대한 대중의 인식을 다양한 측면에서 이해하고, 인식의 차이를 분석함으로써 미래의 이동 수단과 복합적 공간인 무인 자율 주행차에 대한 미래 사용자들의 다양한 인식을 탐구하는 것이다. (연구 방법) 본 연구 방법은 탐색적 연구로써, 실증연구로 진행되었다. 분석의 대상은 유튜브 시청자들이 남긴 댓글이다. 이는 현재 일반인들에게 가장 많은 정보와 인식, 여론의 통로로 활용되는 유튜브 플랫폼에서 무인 자율 주행차에 대한 개인적인 인식 경향을 드러내는 의미 있는 지표이기 때문이다. 분석 방법은 분석 대상인 시청자의 댓글이 비정형 데이터이므로, 이를 분석하기 위해서는 빅데이터 분석인 텍스트 마이닝을 통해 분석하였다. 분석의 범위는 유튜브에서 가장 조회수가 높은 국내 및 해외의 긍정 경향 무인 자율 주행차 체험 동영상에 대한 시청자 댓글과 부정 경향 무인 자율 주행차 사고 동영상에 대한 시청자 댓글이다. (결과) 연구 결과, 긍정 경향 무인 자율 주행차 체험 동영상 댓글에서는 해외 시청자 중 51.99%가 부정적 인식을 보였고, 부정 경향 무인 자율 주행차 사고 동영상의 댓글에서는 국내 시청자 중 60.21%가 긍정적 인식을 보였다. 국내 시청자는 무인 자율 주행차 기술의 실리적 이점과 문제점에 집중하며, 비용 절감, 편의성, 안전성에 대해 긍정적으로 인식한 반면, 기술적 문제와 경제적 영향에 대해서는 부정적인 견해를 나타냈다. 반면, 해외 시청자는 무인 자율 주행차 기술의 혁신성과 잠재력에 긍정적이지만, 비판적 인식과 함께 공익적 유익을 우선시하는 경향을 보였다. (결론) 무인 자율 주행차에 대한 인식은 단순한 기술적 진보를 넘어, 사회적 신뢰 형성, 윤리적 논의 활성화, 경제적·사회적 변화에 대한 공론화가 필수적임을 보여주고 있다. 기술 혁신에 대한 기대와 불안이 공존하는 현실을 고려할 때, 기술적 안정성뿐만 아니라 개별적인 인식에 대한 전략적 접근이 필요하다는 점을 시사하고 있다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) With the development of science and technology, autonomous vehicles technology is attracting attention as an efficient innovation alternative to urban spaces and transportation systems that reduce the need for collision and parking and provide mobility to people who cannot drive. However, in the process of spreading and introducing such autonomous vehicles technology, several negative aspects have emerged. In particular, the complete safety of the autonomous vehicles system, technical limitations, and problems that may arise in human interaction are emerging as major concerns. Therefore, in this study, by understanding the public's perception of autonomous vehicles from various aspects and analyzing the difference in perception, it is to explore the various perceptions of future users about autonomous vehicles, which are complex spaces with future means of transportation. (Method) This research method was conducted as an exploratory study and an empirical study. The subject of analysis is the comments left by YouTube viewers. This is because it is a meaningful indicator that reveals the tendency of personal perception of autonomous vehicles on the YouTube platform, which is currently used as a channel of information, perception, and public opinion to the general public. The analysis method was analyzed through text mining, which is a big data analysis, in order to analyze the comments of the viewers, which are unstructured data. The scope of the analysis is viewer comments on the domestic and overseas positive trend autonomous vehicles experience video with the highest number of views on YouTube, and viewer comments on the negative trend autonomous vehicles accident video. (Results) As a result of the study, 51.99% of overseas viewers showed negative perception in comments on the positive trend autonomous vehicles experience video, and 60.21% of domestic viewers showed positive perception in comments on the negative trend autonomous vehicles accident video. In addition, domestic viewers focused on the practical benefits and problems of autonomous vehicles technology, showed positive perceptions such as cost reduction, convenience, and safety, and showed negative perceptions on technical problems and economic effects. On the other hand, overseas viewers have positive perceptions with a focus on the innovation and potential of autonomous vehicles technology, but at the same time, they showed a critical perception and a perception that prioritizes public benefits. (Conclusions) The recognition of autonomous vehicles goes beyond simple technological progress and shows that it is essential to build social trust, activate ethical discussions, and publicize economic and social changes. Considering the reality where expectations and anxieties about technological innovation coexist, it suggests the need for a strategic approach to individual recognition as well as technological stability.
