비페이위(畢飛宇) 소설의 서사 특색 - 『平原』과 『推拿』를 중심으로 (The narrative features of BiFeiyu’s Novel)

초록

비페이위는 다른 선봉소설의 작가와는 다르게 특색 있고 흥미로운 소설을 창작함으로써 자신만의 문학적 세계를 구축하였다. 비페이위의 소설은 초기의 철학적 성찰, 권력과 욕망에 대한 성찰로부터 시작되었으나, 이후 현실세계와 인간관계에 대한 탐색 및 묘사로 점차 변화하였다. 그의 소설세계는 대체로 비극적 서사를 특색으로 삼고 있다. 그의 소설가로서의 성공은 탄탄한 서사력과 창의적인 소설언어를 비롯한 다양한 심미적 특색과 풍부한 매력을 가진 소설 창작에서 비롯되었다.
그의 소설은 생동적인 인물묘사와 특이한 소설언어의 구사를 특징으로 삼고 있다. 본고의 착안 지점 역시 소설언어를 중심으로 한 서사특색이었다. 그 언어 특색으로 철학적 의미와 충만한 감수성을 가진 시적 언어, 다중적 수사기교, 상황에 대한 깊이 있고 세밀한 묘사 등을 들 수 있다. 『平原』과 『推拿』두 장편소설은 당대중국 사회와 문화세태에 대한 그의 현실비판 결과로 볼 수 있다. 동시에 두 작품에서는 서사세계에 대한 이채로운 특징들로서 작중 인물의 심리와 상황에 대한 묘사를 비롯하여 서사 동기 및 소설언어를 중심으로 살펴보았다. 때문에 소설의 내용적 측면에 대한 접근보다는 형식적 구성부분에 보다 집중할 수 있었다.
비페이위 소설에서 가장 특징적인 것은 그 소설언어라 할 수 있다. 소설언어에 대한 그의 남다른 노력과 열정으로 인해서 그의 소설은 더욱 큰 주목을 받았기 때문이다. 남다른 개인적 이력과 성장과정에서 함양된 빼어난 감성이 빚어낸 그의 소설언어는 시적이고, 철학적이고, 직관적이고, 함축적이면서도 경쾌하고, 역동적이고, 절제되고, 힘이 느껴진다는 면에서 충분히 신선하고 창의적이라 할 수 있다. 이는 그가 소설이 언어 그 자체라고 할 정도로 소설 속의 언어를 중시하고 강조했던 자연스러운 결과이다. 이에 대한 창작 실천 차원에서의 다양한 작품 속의 인물에 적합한 언어구사와 구어체 활용을 포함한 유창하고 생동감 있는 그만의 독특한 소설 언어는 그 소설 서사의 대표적 특징이라 할 만하다.

영어초록

Since the 1990’s, BiFeiyu’s novel has witnessed the transition from pure philosophilcal questioning to close examination of the real life, and to exploration of the spiritual world. The kind of transformation is actually the descending process toward humanity.
Bifeiyu has distinct individual characteristic in his creations. His novel is permeated with profound grief and rational color, and shows deep and persistent pursuit of humanities. Moreover, his novels exhibit the ever-developing and maturing evolutional path in many aspects including content, theme, narrative strategy, and style of manifestation.
In Bifeiyu's novels, contain the exploration of the ultimate meaning, and the pursuit of human exploration, and the experience the tragedy, and the templation of daily life, and the adhering to the language of poetry, all these fully demonstrate the writer himself in the relentless pursuit of art. Bifeiyu, with his metaphysical philosophical thinking and writing features full of personalized, gradually formed his own artistic charm, and this reflects the writer's strong sense of social responsibility. This paper intends to discuss the text meaning and narrative features, on the basis of fine reading of the novels, and taste Bifeiyu’s unique art style. Thus relatively comprehensive grasping Bifeiyu's creation of novels and text feature, to fill the blanks of some study.
In Bifeiyu's novels, the emotions of the characters is the main basis of narrative structure. At the same time, it also take along a personal tendency, which included two types, one is clutter of fracture, the other is a class of linear complete. The language style of his novel is lightweight, and its meaning is heavy. symbol and detailed description are tools, to shallow the philosophy meaning of emotional words express a sense of depth. His novels are characterized by the richness of materials and the width of expression, and also by the philosophical tone in which he addresses the issues such as human nature and cruelty, a tenacious hold on life, desire and restraint, survival and existence, life and death, and fate and tragedy.
