초록

오늘날 기업들의 웹사이트에서 색채의 중요성은 부단히확산되어 왔지만, 공신력 있는 우량기업을 대상으로 하는 웹사이트 색채 연구는 아직 부족한 실정이다. 특히 2014~2015년다우존스 지속가능경영지수((DJSI; Dow Jones Sustainabilit y Indices)에 의한 평가로 경제적, 환경적, 사회적 측면에서우수한 등급을 받은 초우량 기업들의 웹사이트 색채에 대하여 어떤 특징이 있는가에 문제를 제기할 수 있다.
이에 본 연구의 목적은 우리나라 지속가능 경영지수((DJS I Korea)에 의해 우수함을 평가받은 기업들의 웹사이트 초기화면에 나타난 색채의 특성을 고찰하는 데 있다. 연구방법은먼저 25개 해당 기업들 중에서 연구방법에 적합한 20개 기업들을 대상으로 웹사이트 초기화면에서 주조색, 보조색, 강조색의 샘플을 추출하였다. 그 다음으로 샘플 색상을 먼셀 색상값으로 치환하여, IRI 색채 이미지 스케일을 이용해 색상분석, 색조분석, 형용사 이미지 분석을 실시하였다.
연구결과는 다음과 같이 세 가지로 요약할 수 있다.
첫째, 웹사이트의 주조색은 주로 회색계열로써 전체적인분위기를 통합시킬 수 있으며, 안정된 느낌의 분위기를 제시하고 있다. 색채 이미지 스케일은 주로 ‘Soft-Static’으로 명도는 높고 채도는 낮은 파스텔 톤의 색채를 사용함으로써 부드러운 이미지를 나타내고 있다. 그리고 IRI 형용사 이미지 스케일은 ‘은은한’→‘우아한’→‘모던한’→‘내추럴한’의 순서로 나타났다.
둘째, 분석 대상 사이트 중 대부분의 보조색은 White 계열로 청결, 순수, 평화 등을 상징하며, 맑고 깨끗한 느낌을 주는고명도의 색상을 사용하고 있다. 그리고 감성 형용사로 배색이미지 스케일은 ‘맑은’과 ‘화려한’ 이미지의 배색을 주로 사용하였으며, 다음으로 ‘모던한’ 순서로 나타났다.
셋째, 강조색은 Red와 Blue계열의 색채가 많이 사용되었으며, 주조색과 강렬한 대비를 통해 시각적인 집중 효과를 주는 것으로 분석되었다. 그리고 형용사 배색 이미지 스케일은‘경쾌한’과 ‘화려한’ 이미지 배색을 주로 사용하였다.
이러한 결과는 색채를 고려하여 홈페이지 디자인의 전략적 차별화 방안을모색하는 데 기초자료가 될수 있을 것으로기대된다.

영어초록

Today, the importance of color in the Website for comp anies has been continually spread, but the research on W ebsite color targeting a blue-chip company that has publi c confidence is actually insufficient as yet. Particularly, it 's possible to bring up a problem on the Website color characteristics of excellent companies which received a r ating of 'Excellent' from economic, environmental. social aspects based on the evaluation of Dow Jones Sustainabil ity Indices(hereinafter, referred to as "DJSI").
Hereupon, this study is aimed at considering the charac teristic of the color displayed on the intial screen of the Website for companies which received 'Excellence' by D JSI Korea. As for research method, this study extracted the sample of dominant color, assort color and accent col or from the initial screen of the Website targeting 20 com panies, which were judged to be suite for this research method, among the 25 relative companies. Next, this stud y conducted color analysis, hue analysis and Adjective I mage analysis using IRI Color Image Scale after substituting Munsell Hue Value for the sample color.
The research results are summed up as three aspects as follows: First, the dominant color of the Website was fou nd to be mostly gray tone, which can integrate the overal l atmosphere while suggesting the atmosphere of stable feelings. The color image scale was found to be mostly 'Soft-Static', representing a tender image by using the p astel tone color with high value and low chroma. In additi on, IRI Adjective Image Scale was found to be in the ord er of 'Subdued'→'Elegant'→'Modern'→'Natural.' Second, most assort colors among the sites for analysis were found to be White tone, symbolizing cleanliness, pu reness and peace, etc. , and using high value of color givi ng a feeling of lucidity and cleanness. In addition, for the harmony color scale as an emotional adjective, 'Lucid' an d 'Colorful' image of harmony colors were found to be m ostly used , followed by 'Modern,' Third, as for accent color, Red and Blue tone of colors were found to be used much, which were analyzed to giv e a visual concentration effect through the intense contra st with dominant colors. In addition, as for the adjective harmony color image scale, 'Cheerful' and 'Colorful' ima ge of harmony colors were found to be mostly used.
It is hoped that such results produced by this study will be basic materials in inquiring into the strategic differenti ation scheme of Website design by taking account of colors.
