웹 미디어 콘텐츠를 활용한 글쓰기 교육 방안 (Measures for Writing Education Using Web Media Contents)

초록

이 연구의 목적은 포노 사피엔스라 불리는 글쓰기 수용자들을 위한 글쓰기 교육이 어떤 방향으로 진행되어야 하는지에 대해 하나의 모델을 제시하기 위한 것이다. 포노 사피엔스는 웹 미디어 콘텐츠를 향유하는 주체로서, 웹 미디어 콘텐츠를 통해 사고하고 비판하며 성장하므로 글쓰기 교육에서도 이를 활용하는 방안이 요구된다. 따라서 본 논의에서는 웹 미디어에 올라 있는 콘텐츠가 충분히 학생들의 비판적․분석적 사고력, 문제해결능력, 창의력을 증진시키는 데 도움을 주는 것은 물론 읽기와 글쓰기의 상호 작용을 이끌어 낼 수 있는 역할을 수행할 수 있다는 전제하에, 웹 미디어 콘텐츠의 특성을 반영한 글쓰기 교육의 모델을 제시하였다. 웹 미디어 콘텐츠를 활용하는 수업 모델은 ‘수용: 웹 미디어 콘텐츠 활용으로 흥미 유발, 분석과 비판: 읽기 자료 텍스트 접목 및 이론 수업과 활동, 성찰 및 창작: 텍스트 생산’ 과정 3단계로 구성되며, 이 과정에 사고의 전개, 사고의 수용, 사고의 확장을 유도하는 WTL을 적용하는 것이다.
이 수업 모델을 적용하여 수업을 진행하고 글쓰기 교육 효과성을 분석하였는데, 글쓰기 세부역량 평균에 대한 사전-사후 차이 검증 결과 창의적 사고력과 분석적․비판적 사고력의 사후 점수가 통계적으로 유의한 차이를 보이며 상승하였고 문제해결능력도 소폭 상승하였다. 특히, 창의적 사고력의 하위 요소인 호기심 가지기, 분석적․비판적 사고력의 하위요소인 체계성, 회의성, 탐구성에서 통계적으로 유의한 점수 상승이 나타났다. 아울러 학기말 학습 만족도를 실시한 결과, 학생들은 웹 미디어 콘텐츠를 활용했을 때 수업 주제에 대한 흥미도가 높다는 반응을 보였으며, 주제와 관련된 내용을 이해하고 분석하여 문제를 해결하는 데도 상당한 도움이 된다고 답변하였다.
본 연구를 통해 전통적인 수업 방식을 적용했을 때보다 웹 미디어 콘텐츠와 텍스트 읽기의 결합, WTL을 병행하여 수업을 진행했을 때 주제에 관한 내용을 해석하고 확장하며 응용하는 능력이 향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 이 결과는 포노 사피엔스로 불리는 학생들이 이미 총체적 감각의 전자 문화적 주체임을 보여주는 것이기도 하며, 웹 미디어 콘텐츠가 전달하는 내용을 떠나 이러한 문화에 길든 학생들에게 효과적인 글쓰기 학습방식을 구조화할 수 있음을 드러내는 것이기도 하다.

영어초록

This study discusses the future direction of writing education for writing learners called Phono Sapiens or Digital Generation, and Z Generation who are working as a new cultural group by checking diverse contents in real time and spreading the production of contents. As the Phono Sapiens enjoys, thinks, criticizes, and grows diverse contents called web-media through smartphone, it would be necessary to use the web media contents for writing education. Thus, under the premise that the web media and its diverse contents could be helpful not only for growing the critical/analytic thinking skills, creativity, and problem-solving ability of students, but also for drawing interactions between reading and writing, this thesis aimed to suggest the measures for writing education using web media contents.
In the results of verifying the results of performing the writing education by combining the web media contents and texts and also applying WTL based on the analysis of the effectiveness of writing education, the lesson model using the web media contents includes total three stages such as ‘Reception: Inducement of interest with the use of web media contents, Analysis & Criticism: Combination of reading materials and texts, theoretical lesson & activities, Introspection & Creation: Production of text’, and the WTL inducing the development, reception, and expansion of thinking is applied to this process. Of course, this process requires the prior preparation for diversely searching web media contents to use them as data.
When this lesson model was applied, the teacher was able to give more active learning motivation to students than taking the traditional lesson method(instructor-led lesson), and also to change students into active participants in lesson. In the results of analyzing the effects of pre-post writing, the post-scores of creative thinking skills and analytic/critical thinking skills were increased by showing statistically significant differences. In detail, having curiosity as a sub-element of creative thinking skills, and the systemicity, skepticism, and inquiring mind as sub-elements of analytic/critical thinking skills showed the statistically significant increase.
Also, in the results of conducting the learning satisfaction in accordance with the utilization of web media contents at the end of semester, the students showed the high interest in the lesson theme, and they also responded that it would be considerably helpful for understanding the contents related to the theme. The students perceive that the web media contents would be useful for the improvement of thinking skills or creative thinking, and also useful for deciding a theme of writing, collecting data, and creating/organizing the contents. This result shows the fact that the influence of web media contents is gradually increasing as a medium for the acquisition of knowledge and the improvement of thinking skills as the measures for increasing the learners’ participation in lesson, and as an effective tool for the improvement of problem-solving ability, critical/analytic thinking skills, and creativity which are the basics of writing.
