초기 웹드라마 서사구조의 특징 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of Early Web Drama)

초록

본 연구는 웹드라마의 서사적 특징을 규명하고 새로운 서사체로서의 가능성을탐구하고자 시작되었다.
웹드라마는 웹이라는 가상의 관계망과 다층적 소비 맥락, 현실의 논리에 구속되지 않는 수용적 특성 등이 접목되어 전통적 이야기 양식과는 다른 특징을 보인다, 먼저 웹드라마는 사건으로 재현하기 힘든 서사의 공백을 이종 장르의 서술 방식을 여담으로 활용하며 드라마의 세계를 다층적으로 확장한다. 사건의 결속만으로 필연성을 담보하기 힘든 웹드라마의 구조 속에서 여담은 빈약한 사건의 틈을 보완하는 것이자, 다양한 장르와의 결합 가능성을 내포한 이야기 공간이 되고 있다.
또한, 웹드라마는 복잡한 사건으로 확대되지 않는 주인공의 미시적 일상을 서사화하기 위해 보이스오버(voice over)와 자막을 적극적으로 도입한다. 이는 얕은 몰입의 상황에서 간헐적으로 소비되는 환경에 부합하기 위한 것으로, 직관적 수용이 용이하도록 돕는 양식이다.
웹드라마는 재현되는 대상과 수용자 사이에서 가려졌던 미디어의 존재를 수용자에게 드러내기도 한다. 드라마가 미디어에 의해 재현되고 있는 대상물임을 각인시킴으로써 수용자의 몰입은 파괴되고 드라마의 맥락에서 일탈하게 되지만, 서사에서 한걸음물러난 수용자가 드라마 속 이야기와 드라마 밖 환경을 조망하게 만들어 궁극에는 더욱 확장된 해석의 반경을 갖게 한다. 이처럼 웹드라마는 드라마 밖 세계를 이야기 공간으로 활용함으로써 이야기를 입체화시키는 것뿐만 아니라 드라마 공간 내부에서도 수용자를 이야기 세계로 포섭하며 새로운 구도를 형성하고 있다.

This study was started to analyze the impact of the web drama on the structure to identify the narrative characteristics of web dramas and explore their potential as a new narrative.
Webdramas are characterized differently from traditional narrative styles by combining a virtual network called the web, a multi-layered consumption context, and receptive characteristics that are not bound by the logic of reality, First, webdramas expand the world of drama in multiple layers by using the narrative method of different genres as a side story, which is difficult to reproduce as an event. In the structure of web dramas that are difficult to guarantee necessity only by binding events, side stories complement the gap of poor events and become a story space that implies the possibility of combining with various genres.
In addition, webdramas actively introduce voice-over and subtitles to narrate the microscopic daily life of the protagonist, which does not expand into complex events. This is to fit the environment consumed intermittently in the situation of shallow immersion, and is a style that helps facilitate intuitive acceptance.
Webdramas also reveal the existence of media hidden between the object being reproduced and the audience to the audience. By imprinting that the drama is an object being reproduced by the media, the audience's immersion is destroyed and deviates from the context of the drama, but the audience, who took a step back from the narrative, allows them to view the story in the drama and the environment outside the drama, ultimately giving them a more expanded radius of interpretation of the drama. In this way, webdramas not only make the story three- dimensional by using the world outside the drama as a story space, but also form a new composition by embracing the audience into the story world inside the drama space.
