웰니스 리조트 로비공간 디자인의 치유환경 표현 특성에 관한 연구 (The Study on Characteristics of Expressing Healing Environment by Design of Lobby Space at Wellness Resort)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 경제발전과 생활수준의 향상으로 인하여 고령화가 증가하고 사람들은 건강과 미, 여가활동에 대한 중요성을 인식하는 라이프스타일로 변화되고 있다. 이에 따라 의료관광산업과 에코투어리즘이 주목받고 있으며 사용자가 보다 쾌적한환경에서 수준 높은 서비스를 받을 수 있는 리조트시설이 필요하게 되었다. 기존의 리조트 개념에서 발전하여 건강검진, 미용, 노화방지, 식단관리 등의 육체적 부분과 명상, 심리치료 등의 정신적 치유를 위한 폭넓은 시설을 지닌 웰니스 리조트는 그 영역이 확대되어가고 있다. 본 연구는 웰니스 리조트의 중심이 되며 첫인상을 결정짓는 로비공간의 치유환경 표현의 중요성을 파악하고, 표현요소를 분석하여 향후 국내 웰니스 리조트 설계시 기초자료를 제시하는데 목적을 두었다. (연구방법) 본 연구는 문헌과 선행연구를 통하여 웰니스, 웰니스관광, 웰니스 리조트를 이해하고 웰니스 리조트 로비공간의 치유환경 표현의 필요성을 파악한다. 국내외 선행연구에서 공통적으로 제시된 치유환경표현 특성 및 요소를 도출하여 자연친화성, 공간성, 사회성으로 구분한다. 자연친화성은 자연경관, 실내공간의 자연요소적용, 공간성은 인공물/색채/재료/질감/사물의배치 및 개방감/친근감으로 구분된다. 사회성은 사회활동 촉진을 위한 가구 배치로 분류하여 치유환경 디자인이 부각된 해외 웰니스 리조트 로비공간을 사례분석한다. 사례범위는 2007-2019년 개관된 해외 웰니스 리조트 로비공간으로 문헌조사, 해외 뉴스 트레블 관련 추천사례, 인터넷 사이트 등의 자료를 참조하여 7곳을 선정하였다. (결과) 사례분석결과 치유환경 표현특성인 자연경관, 공간성은 모든 사례공간에서 나타났으나 실내공간의 자연요소적용, 사회활동 촉진을 위한 가구배치 등은 다소 부족한 곳도 있었다. 이러한 이유는현대 공간디자인이 단순성 강조를 위하여 구조적 측면과 실내조경, 전시 중심의 공간을 추구하는 경향 때문이라 사료된다. (결론) 본 연구는 웰니스 리조트 로비공간으로 국한시켜 치유환경 표현특성을 분석함으로써 기존 의료관광호텔의 전체 공용공간에편중되어 있는 기타 연구들과 차별성을 지닌다. 의료관광 활성화로 향후 국내 웰니스 리조트 계획이 활발하게 진행될 것으로 전망되는 현 상황에 본 연구를 통해 도출된 치유환경 표현특성이 국내 의료관광 관련 리조트, 치유공간 설계시 기초자료로 사용할수 있기를 기대한다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) Due to economic development and improvement of the living standard, the aging is increasing and peoples’lifestyle is being changed to recognizing importance of health, beauty and leisure activities. Therefore, medical tourism industry and eco-tourism receive attention and resort facilities are required for users to receive high-level services in more pleasant environment. Wellness resorts developed from the concept of the existing resorts, having extensive facilities for physical healing like medical checkup, beauty care, preventing aging and dietary control etc. and mental healing like meditation and psychological therapy etc. are expanding their area. The study is to identify importance of expressing healing environment of the lobby space as a center of a resort, decisive of a first impression, and provide basic data when designing domestic wellness resorts in the future by analyzing expression factors. (Method) The study examines necessity of expressing healing environment of the lobby space at wellness resorts by understanding wellness, wellness tourism and wellness resorts through studies on literature and previous researches. Characteristics and elements of expressing healing environment commonly presented in previous researches home and abroad are extracted and divided into nature-friendliness, spatiality and sociality. Nature-friendliness is divided into natural landscape and applying natural elements to indoor spaces, and spatiality into artificial objects/ colors/ material/ texture/ object layout and openness/ friendliness. Sociality is divided by furniture layout to promote social activities and it is to analyze cases of the lobby space at overseas wellness resorts with remarkable design for healing environment. For the scope of cases, 7 places were selected after reviewing data like the literature search, cases recommended about traveling in the overseas news and web sites on the internet among the lobby spaces at overseas wellness resorts opened between 2007 and 2019. (Results) As a result, natural landscape and spatiality, characteristics of expressing healing environment were shown in all cases but there were some places where were somewhat insufficient in applying natural elements to indoor spaces, the layout of furniture to promote social activities etc. The reason is thought to be the tendency of modern space design seeking structural aspects, indoor gardening and spaces focusing on exhibition to emphasize simplicity of space design. (Conclusions) The study has obvious differentiation from other researches limited to the entire public space of the existing hotels for medical tourism by limiting it to the lobby space at wellness resorts and analyzing characteristics of expressing healing environment.
Characteristics of expressing healing environment through the study are expected to be used as basic data for designing resorts and healing space about domestic medical tourism under the current situation expecting that domestic wellness resort projects will be progressed actively in the future by revitalization of medical tourism.
