초록

Goryeo Kings tried to intensify their authorities with several ways. Traditional kings used Naesi and Geumgun position to enhance their safety and prestige. However, this system was given away after Goryeo military regime. In Mongol invasions of Goryeo, King Chungnyeol wanted to need new systems to secure his safety. The new ones were Holchi, Yeongbang, and Pildochi as Geobsul positions.
The Geobsol posions were hard to settle down at this period. We don't hard to find the establishment and abrogation documents of Yeongbang several times in the early period of King Chungnyeol. The role of Yeongbang was limited to Sookwee by installing Yeongbangdogam in 1283, the period of King Chungnyeol which was much more curtailed than that of Yeongbang before. In order to overcome this situation, new position was needed and Hogul position was finally organized.
Hogun position was formed into Naryeo and Siwigunjae position. In other words, the already disabled Naesi and Geumgun were changed into Hogun position to strengthen royal authority. That is found in documents of Siweehogun, Gunsihogun, and Chinjonghogun.
These Hogun positions were not found from 1285 to 1300, the period of King Chungnyeol regime. In this period, the name of Hogun position changed into Changun position when we finding Siweechangun, not Siweehogun in documents at that time. Moreover, internationally Goryeo dynasty took part in the war of Mongol. The royal forces of Goryeo played a role in that war by attending the new military position, Gumhakyangwan and Yousaeng so that the ordinary Hogun position was not needed anymore.
After the year of 1301, Hogun appeared again. After finishing the war, King Chungnyeol had difficult a time domestically and internationally. One of difficulties was death of Kubla Khan in Won dynasty. The death of Kubla Khan led to the weakness of prestige of King Chungnyeol that happened to abdication of the throne in favor of Chunsun in 1298. 8 months later, King Chungnyeol was reinstated in his former position. After that, Hogun position was reintroduced again and reformed by including 8wee postion.
The roles of Hogun posion placed more importance of diplomatic relations with Won dynasty. After 1301, Hogun attached weigh to accumulation of financial benefits by Yeongbang's international trades. Because of this, King Chungsun abolished Yeongbang and after reinstatement of King Chungnyeol, the role of Yeongbang was limited to that of Sookwee.
Hogun position during the period of King Chunghae played an important role in deciding Goryeo policies, attending commercial activities, and building new palace. During the early period of King Chunghae regime, he tried to conduct country's affairs through normal and natural systems and policies. However, his first dethronement was led by his father, King Chungsook. After death of King Chungsook, his son King Chunghae's restoration to the throne by his father's will was not carried out due to Baekan, a powerful figure in Won dynasty. Therefore, there was a vacancy during 2 months in a King position. This situation gave a direct influence on King Chunghae after his restoration. King Chunghae put an much more effort on consolidating regal power and capital accumulation. We can easily conclude it to see the fact that Hogun Yang-yeon Park supervised Naeseong. Naeseong was an organization close to King, which controled not only Sookwee but also Siwee. In the future, this caused Gosin withdrawal and abolishment of Yeongbang and Naeseong position. These positons were included on Holchi position together.
