유치원 공간색채의 선행연구 경향에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Precedent Research Trends of Spatial Color in Kindergarten)

초록

(연구배경 및 목적) 오늘날 유치원 환경에 대한 중요성은 매우 높아지고 있으나 교육환경의 중요한 요소인 색채 영역에 대한연구의 부재로 향후 연구에 필요한 색채 영역의 근거나 기준이 미흡한 상황이다. 이와 같은 연구 상황에서 향후 유치원 공간 연구를 위한 색채 환경 및 색채 요소 특성에 대한 연구는 매우 중요하므로 여러 가지 내용으로 산재되어있는 유치원 공간색채에 대한 선행연구 내용을 분류 및 분석하여 색채에 대한 특성을 종합하므로 향후 유치원 공간색채에 대한 연구에 있어 방향설정 및 주요 연구내용을 위한 자료 정립을 위한 특성을 분석하고 종합하는 것이 본 연구의 목적이다. (연구방법) 향후 유치원 공간색채에 대한 연구를 위한 데이터베이스 정립 과정으로 현재 유치원 공간의 색채와 관련된 선행연구를 연구범위로 설정하였다. 연구영역은 영․ 유아세대에 대한 교육기관인 유치원으로 설정하였으며 연구대상은 공간색채에 대하여 연구경향 및 특성을 종합하였는데, 현재 국내에서 선행 연구된 학술적 논문을 대상으로 주요항목에 대한 분류 및 분석을 통하여 유치원 공간의 색채 요소를 도출하였다. 연구방법은 국내에서 유치원 공간색채에 대한 학술적 연구인 석사 및 박사 학위논문과 여러 학회에서 연구, 발행되는 학회논문을 웹 사이트 중 학술연구정보서비스와 관련하여 인지도가 있는 RISS, DBpia, 네이버 학술정보 검색을 통하여 수집, 조사하였으며, 수집 과정에서 사용된 주제어는 유치원, 영・유아, 공간색채, 색채환경, 색채요소, 색채특성이었다. (결과) 유치원 공간색채의 년도별 경향은 1986년부터 현재까지 연구되어 매우 중요한 연구 영역이라는 사실을 인지할 수 있었고, 교육이론에서는 놀이교육과 인지발달 및 지적발달과 관련된 이론이 많았으며, 색채이론에서는 표현 및 색채조화, 그리고 색채 환경에 대한 이론이 대부분을 차지하였으며, 향후 새로운 연구를 위해서는 인간발달 이론에 입각한 연구와 융합적 측면에서 인지과학이나 뇌과학 같은 새로운 관점의 연구와 세밀한 공간 색채 코드를 제시할 수 있는 방법을 적용한 연구가 진행되어야 하겠다. (결론) 본 논문연구에서 유치원 공간색채는 영・유아 및 아동세대의 성장에 정신적, 육체적 측면에서 많은 영향을 미친다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었으며, 또한 새로운 색채 인식이 공간에서 활동 시에 매우 중요하다는 사실을 인지할 수 있었다. 따라서 향후 유치원 공간색채 연구에 있어서는 결론에서 제시한 6가지의 사항을 고려하여 연구를 진행하려 한다.

영어초록

(Background and Purpose) The research area for this study was learning environments for young children; more specifically, kindergartens. The subjects of the study were the research trends and characteristics of color in educational spaces. Today, the importance of and interest in the whole environment including indoor and outdoor kindergarten surroundings is very high. However, there has been a lack of research on color areas, which serve as important elements of educational environments. Accordingly, the basis and standards of color areas needed for future research are insufficient. It is important to investigate the characteristics of environmental color and color elements for use in future kindergarten spaces. Thus, this study classified and analyzed the use of color in kindergarten spaces based on the content of preliminary studies which are scattered. (Method) As a database establishment process for researching the future use of color in kindergarten environments, we set a scope of research related to the colors of current kindergarten spaces. The research area was set as kindergarten, which is an educational institution for young children. The subjects of the study are the research trends and characteristics of the space color. The color elements of kindergarten spaces have been derived through classification and analysis of major items from academic papers published in Korea. The research method involved using RISS, DBpia, and Naver to collect and investigate data on the colors of kindergarten spaces. This was accomplished by searching academic research web sites, and using information services (which include doctoral dissertations and studies published by various institutes). In addition, five main keywords were used in the data collection process: kindergarten, infant, space color, color environment, color element, and color characteristics. (Results) Year-by-year tendencies of color trends in kindergarten spaces have been studied since 1986, and have been recognized as a very salient research topic. In educational theory, there are a multitude of concepts related to play, cognitive development, and intellectual development. In color theory, expression, color harmony, and have been areas of particular interest. Research should be conducted using a method to present a dense spatial code. (Conclusions) In this study, we have found that the color of kindergarten spaces has a great influence on the mental and physical growth of infants and young children. We also understand that recognition of new colors is a very important aspect in activity spaces for children. Thus, future investigations will consider the six points presented in the conclusion regarding the influence of spatial color in German Waldorf kindergartens.
