원불교 삼학수행 원리의 평생학습 응용 (The application of Won-buddhism Threefold study principles to lifelong learning)

초록

교육은 개인의 성장과 사회존속에 필요한 지식을 전승한다. 평생교육은 모든 사람이 전 생애에 걸쳐 학습을 통해 성장하고, 학습으로 사회 공동체를 이루자는 교육혁명의 기치 하에 등장하였으나 현실에서는 기존 교육의 장벽을넘지 못하고 있다. 평생교육은 학습이 일상이 되도록 하자는 것이며, 사회가교육의 장인 학습사회를 만들어 교육을 개인의 성장과 사회발전의 토대로 삼자는 것이다.
사적인 권리이자 공적인 의무인 교육이 지닌 이상과 현실의 딜레마를 어떻게 해결하느냐에 따라 평생교육의 성공 여부가 달려있다. 평생교육의 성공은교육이 수단으로 전락한 기존 교육의 한계를 극복하는 일이기도 하다. 교육은인격완성을 추구하는 것을 목적으로 삼는다는 점에서 종교 수행과 지향하는바가 같다.
본 연구는 평생교육이 안고 있는 교육이념과 실천의 한계를 해결하고자 원불교 삼학수행의 원리를 평생학습에 적용을 시도하였다. 이제 평생교육은 정책 논의에서 한 걸음 나아가 자발적 학습행위의 관점으로 접근해야 한다. 자발적 학습은 깨달음을 향한 삼학 수행의 원리와 흡사한바, 불교의 삼학수행과 원불교 삼학수행의 특징을 비교 분석하여 원불교 삼학수행이 평생학습에 주는시사점을 도출하였다.
삼학수행은 인격완성과 사은 보은으로 평생교육이 지향하는 평생학습사회의 모형을 담고 있다. 평생교육이 학습이 생활이 되도록 하는 교육혁명이듯 삼학은 수행이 생활이게 하는 종교혁명을 추구하여 궁극적으로 인간화를 이루고자 한다. 새로운 교육 패러다임으로써의 평생교육의 동력은 인식론적·교육철학적 논의에서 방향을 재설정하는 것에 있다.
삼학은 시대를 넘어 보편적 진리를 통해 완전한 인간상을 지향하고 있어 교육적 지식습득과 학습 너머 삶의 지혜를 담고 있다. 앎과 행위의 방식을 증득하게 하는 삼학수행의 원리는 평생교육이 지향해야 하는 자발적 학습행위의의미를 제시하고 있다. 삼학은 깨달음으로 삶의 질적 변화로 인격을 갖추게 하며, 은적 관계에 의한 공동체의 원리를 제시하는 바, 평생교육이 지향하는 교육의 사적 권리와 사회적 의무 이상의 통찰력을 시사한다.

영어초록

Education transmits knowledge necessary for individual growth and social survival. Lifelong education has emerged under the banner of an educational revolution in which every person grows through learning throughout his or her life and becomes a social community through learning. Lifelong education is to make learning become everyday, and society is to create a learning society that is the field of education, and to make education the foundation of individual growth and social development.
The success of lifelong learning depends on how we solve the ideal and the dilemma of education, which is a private right and public obligation.
The success of lifelong education is also overcoming the limits of established education, which has become a means of education. Education is aimed at pursuing personality perfection, and it is the same as religious practice.
The purpose of this study is to apply the principles of Won Buddhism to the lifelong learning in order to solve the limitations of education philosophy and practice. Now, lifelong education should be approached from the viewpoint of voluntary learning behavior by taking one step further from the policy debate. The voluntary learning is similar to the principle of Threefold Study practice for enlightenment, and the characteristics of Buddhist Threefold Study practice and Won Buddhism Threefold Study practices are analyzed and the implications for the lifelong learning are derived.
The Threefold Study practice contains a model of a lifelong learning society oriented toward lifelong education through personality completion and Four Grace Gratitude. As lifelong education is an education revolution that allows learning to be a life, Threefold Study pursues a religious revolution that makes life a reality and ultimately aims to achieve humanization. The power of lifelong education as a new educational paradigm lies in redirecting from the epistemological and educational philosophical debate.
Threefold Study is aiming for a perfect human being through universal truth beyond the age, and it contains the wisdom of acquiring educational knowledge and learning beyond learning. The principle of Threefold Study practice which enables to gain knowledge of the way of knowing and acting suggests the meaning of voluntary learning activity that lifelong education should aim at. Threefold Study practice provides students with the qualities of life through qualitative change and suggests the principles of community by silver relations, suggesting insights beyond the social rights and social rights of education that lifelong education is aiming at.
