초록

이제까지 논의되어 온 원형담론의 층위는 原形(originality), 元型(archetype), 原型(pattern) 등으로 나뉠 수 있다. 이들은 原本(archepattern) 등으로 심층화되어 이해되거나 논의되기도 하지만, 대개는 가변적일 뿐 아니라 중층적인 개념으로 사용되어 왔다. 무형문화재의 원형적 접근은 대개‘고유소‘ 혹은‘민속의 원형’등으로, 이들을 망라하거나 적어도 중첩적 개념으로 이해된다고 볼 수 있다. <문화원형사업>의 원형적 접근들은 개념 자체는 민속의 원형이라는 접근 맥락과 유사한 듯 보이지만 실제 적용되는 사례들은 문화콘텐츠 혹은 산업화에 소요되는 소재주의적 의미로 이해되고 있다. ‘原形性’보다‘典型性’, ‘類型性’에 초점이 있음을 말한다. 콘진에서 문화콘텐츠 개발 방안과 방향을 점검하는 프로토타입(Prototype)도 각각의 목적과 방향에 따라 문화원형의 개념을 取捨하고 있다고 볼 수 있다. 이 성격을 다시 세 가지의 목적과 의미에 따라 구분해보면, 첫째는 민족성 혹은 지역성이고 둘째는 원형성 혹은 목적성이며 셋째는 원본성 혹은 글로벌성이라고 나누어 볼 수 있다. 본문의 분석을 통하여 점검할 수 있는 것은 문화원형담론을 시대적 흐름속에서 조망하는 입장이 아닌가 생각한다. 곧, 심층적인 학술적 원형논의는 진행형으로 진단하는 것이 옳다는 뜻이다. 그러나 용어의 층위가 어떠했든 문화원형담론이 문화콘텐츠산업의 전제가 되어 있는 것이 불변의 현실이라는 점에서, 어떤 측면이든 문화원형에 대한 논의를 진전시킬 의무는 우리에게 주어져 있는 셈이다. 따라서 무형문화재제도가 민족문화원형이라는 국가적 이데올로기 창출을 기반으로 하였지만 일정한 보존과 보호의 기능을 해왔듯이, 근자의 문화원형담론 또한 문화경제주의라는 국가의 산업적 전략을 기반으로 창출되었지만 또 어떤 기능을 할지, 향후의 전개과정에 대해
주목할 필요가 있는 것이다. 즉, 향후의 원형담론은 멀티유즈를 전제한 원소스로서의 문화원형이라는 소재주의적 관점에 머무는 것이 아니라, 삶의 본질에 천착하는 원형으로서의 의미를 회복하는 절차들을 밟아나갈 필요가 있다고 본다.

영어초록

The hierarchy of prototype discourses that have ever been
discussed could be classified by ‘originality’, ‘archetype’,
‘pattern’and so on. These has been usually used as mid-concept
as well as variable one even though these would more deeply be
understood or discussed as ‘arche-pattern’or so. Prototypal
approaches to intangible cultural assets are generally‘ indigenous
elements’or ‘folklore prototypes’, which could be understood in
the concept of comprising all things or, at least, in the duplicate
concept of these things. The prototypal approaches on ‘Cultural
Prototype Project’seem to be similar with the approach contexts,
folklore prototype, but their authentic applicative cases have been
understood as the materialistic meaning which utilized in
Culture-contents or industrialization. This means that it has its
focus in ‘typicality’and ‘pattern’rather than in ‘prototype’. It
also chooses the concept of cultural prototype according to each
purpose and direction to the prototype of Korea Culture &
Content Agency(KOCCA) to examine a development plan of
culture-content and its direction. This feature can be redivided
into three parts according to the purpose and the meaning; the
first is a racial characteristic or a locality, the second is a pattern
or a finality and the last is an originality or globality.
It would be a point of view to look out over cultural prototype
discourses in a periodical stream to be able to examine through
analyzing the main text. That is, this means it is right that indepth
academic discussion on prototype would be diagnosed as a
progressive pattern. Whatever the hierarchy of terms is, we
should have an obligation to develope the discussion on cultural
prototype in that cultural prototype discourses always becomes a
premise of culture-contents industry. Therefore, the system of
intangible cultural assets based on the creation of national
ideology, ‘national cultural prototype’, but the system had the
function of a regular preservation and a protection. Recent
cultural prototype discourses also were created in the base of
Korean industrial strategy,‘ cultural economism’. At this point, it
is necessary to pay attention to how function it is and how about
its further expanding process is. Conclusionally, future discourses
on prototype would step on the stage to recover the meaning as
the prototype to be closely related with the essence of human life,
not would only stay in the materialistic point of view as the
original source premised a multi-use.
