元의 散曲이 고려 후기 시가에 끼친 영향 (Influence of Sanqu(散曲) in Yuan(元) Dynasty on Korean Poetry in the Late Goryeo Period)

초록

元代의 중국에서 성행한 散曲은 13세기 후반 이래 그 음악과 함께 고려에 유입되어 고려의 시가에 큰 영향을 끼치게 되었다.
고려 후기 시가에서의 연형식의 다양한 발달과 성행이 산곡 重頭의 영향을 받았고, 경기체가 등에서의 ‘前節＋後節’ 구성이 산곡 帶過曲의 영향을 받아서 이루어졌으며, 고려 후기의 非聯體 시가 작품 등의 구성이 散套의 영향을 받았을 개연성이 있다.
산곡이 끼친 영향은 주제․제재 면과 표현법 면에서는 확인되지 않고 형식 면에서도 시편 구성에서만 뚜렷하면서도, 문학적인 면과 음악적인 면에 함께 나타난 특징을 보인다. 또한 산곡은 장르적 성격의 유사성 등을 통해 경기체가 등의 고려 후기 시가 유형․장르들의 발달에 영향을 끼쳤을 수도 있다.
산곡의 영향으로 형성된 다양한 시가 유형들과 그 작품들은 고려 후기의 시가계를 풍성하게 했고, 상층인들의 시적 욕구의 중요한 일면을 충족시키며 그것을 노래하는 즐거움을 누리게도 했다. 그리고 그 일부는 조선 초에 계승되어서, 15세기 초․중엽의 과도기적인 시가계의 한 축을 이루게 되었다.
한편 산곡이 지닌 음악에 따르는 구성 양상의 영향은 고려 후기 시가들의 구성을 음악에 구속받게 함으로써 문학적 양식의 발전에 다소 지장을 주었다. 또 그 양식들이 음악의 양상에 따라 달라질 수밖에 없었기 때문에, 고려 후기 시가계에서는 적은 작품수에 비해 다양한 여러 유형들이 나타나게 되었고, 그 유형들은 경기체가 외에는 역사적 장르로서 확립되지 못하고 말았다. 그리고 산곡의 통속성은 그 영향을 받은 고려 후기 시가 작품들 일부를 유락적인 것으로 이끌었다. 또한 산곡의 영향이 강했던 점은 일부 토착시가 유형들의 지속적인 발전에 장애가 되기도 했을 것이다.

영어초록

Sanqu, a Chinese poetry genre prevalent during Mongol Yuan dynasty, had flowed into Korea since the late 13th century, and had wielded great influence upon Korean poetry in the late Goryeo period.
Not only had the various development of stanzaic form in Korean poetry during the late Goryeo period been greatly affected by the ‘zhongtou(重頭)’ in sanqu, but also the composition of ‘front strophe＋rear strophe’ such as gyeonggichega(景幾體歌) had been achieved due to the influence of ‘daiguoqu(帶過曲)’ in sanqu. There also lies a substantial probability that the composition of poems in non-stanzaic form in the period fell under the influence of ‘santao(散套)’.
As a result, diverse types and works of poetry stemming from sanqu enriched the field of Korean poetry in the late Goryeo period, making it possible to meet the poetic desires of the upper classes and to grant them the pleasure of singing poems. Furthermore, some of those poetry types were inherited to the early Joseon period, becoming a pivot of transitional poetry field in the 15th century.
Although it seems that the effect of sanqu only remains in the form of poetry ― distinctively in the composition of verses ― a great deal of sanqu’s literary and musical characteristics can be found in Korean Poetry in the late Goryeo period. Also, sanqu may have affected the development of poetry types and genres in the period such as gyeonggichega since they carried some similarities in genre characteristic.
Meanwhile, sanqu’s composition style that carried both music and literature within itself had some counter-productive influence on the structure of Korean poetry in the late Goryeo period. Since sanqu bound music and literature form together in its composition style, following the form of sanqu eventually encumbered Korean poetry’s development in its literary style. Also, since such poems following the structure of sanqu could only be diversified according to the aspect of music, numerous musical variations of the literary style immerged in the late Goryeo period’s field of poetry and those varied literary styles weren’t able to get established as historical genre other than gyeonggichega.
Moreover, sanqu’s popularity led some of Korean poetry in the late Goryeo period that were affected by it to be poems for amusement. Likewise, sanqu’s strong influence upon Korean poetry in the period must have worked as a hindrance to continuous development of some native Korean poetry styles.
