문학치료학의 ‘서사접속이론’과 고전문학 교육의 새로운 방향성 (Connection Theory of Story-in-depth in Literary Therapeutics and Direction for Classical Literature Education)

초록

본 연구에서는 문학치료학의 서사접속이론에 기반하여 ‘서사구성능력’의 증진을 통한 ‘서사접속’이 앞으로의 고전문학 교육의 방향성이 될 수 있음을 제안하였다. 2절에서는 인지주의 스키마 이론과의 연계를 통해 문학치료학의 ‘서사접속이론’에 대한 논의를 심화시켜 나가면서 ‘서사구성능력’의 개념을 구체화하였다. 서사구성능력은 텍스트 이면에 내재하는 ‘서사의 논리’를 구성할 수 있는 능력으로, 작품을 이해하는 과정 중에 감상자의 내면에서 구성되는 인지구조의 ‘인과성’과 관련된다. 서사구성능력은 수용자가 텍스트를 자기 관점에서 해석하고 자기 입장에서 작품을 재맥락화하는 것과 차이가 있다. 작품은 왜 그런 모양으로 만들어질 수밖에 없는지, 왜 그런 방향으로 전개될 수밖에 없는지를 동시에 이해할 수 있는 능력이다. 서사구성능력이란 나의 입장과 작품의 입장이 갖는 차이를 스스로 파악할 수 있는 능력이며, 서사구성능력이 발휘되는 지점에서 서사접속이 가능해진다.
3절에서는 실제 사례 분석을 통해 서사구성능력 증진과 서사접속을 지향하는 고전문학 교육 방법을 세 단계로 제시하였다. 첫 번째 단계는 감상자가 자신의 서사를 ‘표현’하는 단계이다. 두 번째 단계는 감상자가 자신의 서사를 ‘탐색’하는 단계이다. 세 번째 단계는 감상자가 자신의 서사를 ‘관찰’하는 단계이다. 고전문학 교육 현장에서 서사구성능력의 증진에 초점을 맞춘다면 고전문학에 대한 거부감을 근본적으로 해소시키면서 고전문학 자체에 내재된 문학적 힘을 제대로 ‘체험’할 수 있는 기반이 마련될 수 있을 것이다. 서사구성능력의 발휘를 통해 서사접속이 이루어질 때, 고전문학 작품은 나에게 거부감을 주고 낯설기만 했던 ‘텍스트’가 아니라, 나의 삶과도 긴밀하게 연결되는, 내 안에서 살아 움직일 수 있는 ‘문학’으로 다가올 가능성이 높아질 것이다.

영어초록

In this study, it was suggested that the “connection of story-in-depth” through the enhancement of the “story-in-depth composition ability” should be the direction for the future classical literature education. In chapter 2, through connection with cognitive schema theory, the concept of “story-in-depth composition ability” was concreted while intensifying the discussion on the “connection theory” of literary therapeutics. Story-in-depth composition ability is the ability to construct the “logic of story-in-depth” inherent in the text behind the text, and is related to the “causality” of the cognitive structure within the reader during the process of understanding the literary work. Story-in-depth composition ability is different from the reader interpreting the text from their own point of view and recontextualizing the literary work from their perspective. It is the ability to understand simultaneously why a literary work has to be made in such a shape and why it has to be unfolded in that direction. Story-in-depth composition ability is the ability to grasp the difference between my position and the position of the literary work, and the connection of story-in-depth becomes possible at the point where the story-in-depth composition ability is exhibited.
In chapter 3, through the analysis of actual case, the classical literary education method aimed at improving the story-in-depth composition ability and connection of story-in-depth was presented in three stages. The first is the stage in which the reader ‘expresses’ his or her story-in-depth. The second is the stage in which the reader ‘sees’ his or her story-in-depth. The third is the stage in which the reader ‘observes’ his or her story-in-depth. If we focus on improving the story-in-depth composition ability in the field of classical literary education, it will be possible to fundamentally resolve the rejection of classical literary studies and provide a foundation to properly ‘experience’ the literary power inherent in classical literature itself. When the connection of story-in-depth is made through the exertion of the story-in-depth composition ability, classical literature works are not just ‘text’ that gave me a sense of rejection and were unfamiliar to me, but ‘literature’ that can live and move within me, which is closely connected with my life.
