영성과 영성수련에 대한 새로운 이해 (A New Understanding of Spirituality and Spirituality Training)

초록

영성과 영성수련을 새롭게 고찰해보려는 본 논문은 바로 이러한 신
학적 체계 구축의 연장선상에 놓여 있는 작업이다. 그렇기에 만에 하나
가장 궁극적인 기초 관점인 화이트헤드 철학에 조금이라도 치명적 구
멍이 드러날 경우, 영성과 영성수련을 고찰하는 나의 이론 역시 언제든
지 수정 또는 폐기됨을 마다하지 않을 것이다. 물론 영성에 대한 새로
운 접근과 이론을 제시하기에 앞서서는 먼저 기존의 신학자들을 비롯
한 여러 학자들이 이해하는 영성 이해들을 대략적으로나마 살펴볼 것
이며, 그리고서 기존의 영성 담론에서 나타나고 있는 영성 이해의 모호
함과 두리뭉실함을 좀더 명료하게 제시해보고자 할 것이다. 또한 이것
은“영성수련이란 무엇인가?”의 문제와도 필연적으로 연관되어 있기에
영성수련에 대한 이해 역시 보다 구체적이고 선명한 의미를 지닐 필요
가 있다고 판단된다. 그리고 최종적으로는 이러한 영성수련의 궁극적
목표의 차원까지 내다보면서 우리네 삶의 수련에 대한 전망들도 간략
하게나마 모색해 보고자 한다.

영어초록

The spirituality theory this thesis suggests is “new spirituality
theory” which has been generalized in the course of preparing new
alternative Christianity theology. The new spirituality theory I have
sought is based on Whitehead’s philosophy. The reason is that
Whitehead’s philosophy can prepare newer and more detail
approaches and prospective in understanding the spirituality theory.
The spirituality theories the existing scholars have argued so far is
very ambiguous and abstract. Accordingly, the purpose of this
spirituality theory is to overcome this problem.
We, human being, make a choice every moment. These every
moments are accumulated to form one’s entire life. Here, a variety of
choices include the best choice as well. In this perspective, I think, the
spirituality means a nature to drive oneself to the best choice among
choices we encounter in every moment. And the best choice is to
follow God’s will and lead the whole world to better one and it is the
best way for oneself.
Being is always laid on relational horizon. That is, God, I and the
world are interweaved with each other in relationshi This can be
called GIO(God-I-Others) relational system. Therefore, the best
choice for me is always related to God and reality of others. That is,
the best choice means choice which turning towards ultimate GIO
satisfaction. <GIO Satisfaction> means all being’s ultimate intention
and the final being’s purpose which God, I and Other can agree upon.
In my opinion, the concept of spirituality means humanity’s exalted
dimension, which can be <Christ’s humanity> in terms of Christianity.
And also, Spirituality Training cannot be abstract concept. As you
know, spirituality training means original conception of Kung-Fu(工
夫) which has been said in Oriental philosophy. Kung-Fu is all
upwards discipline of Mom including heart and hands as well as our
brain. Here, Mom is a traditional Korean term, a concept including
body and soul together. Mom is beyond immediate physical body and
leading to the end of Universe. Spirituality training is Kung-F u ,
Kung-Fu means all upwards discipline of Mom. And here, “upwards”
means a road toward GIO’s satisfaction. Spirituality includes reason,
emotion and virtue. Therefore, spirituality discipline is continuous
Mom’s acquisition training for all of three.
In my opinion, the final purpose of this spirituality discipline is
‘full naught’(滿無). This means that even if I make a choice at my
will, that always matches the Heaven’s will. In other words, that is
nature’s choice, always leading to the best choice regardless of which
choice a person makes under given circumstance. Full naught, which
is the ultimate state of spirituality discipline, needs continuous Kung-
Fu.
