국내 전통 옻칠산업의 활성화를 위한 사례연구 (A Case Study for Revitalization of the Domestic Traditional Lacquer Industry)

초록

본 연구는 국내 전통 옻칠 공예 산업의 발전과 활성화 방안을 모색하기 위해 현대 옻칠 분야의 중요성을 입증하고 옻칠 장인과 기업의 협업을 통한 생산성 향상과 전통 옻칠공예의 활동 영역 확장을 목적으로 시작되었다. 이는 전통공예 분야의 산업화, 대중화를 위한 하나의 제안으로 공예와 산업, 예술과 산업의 연계 가능성을 타진하는 것이다. 따라서 본 논문은 전통 옻칠의 예술적, 기능적 가치를 역사적 배경과 시대적 필요성을 바탕으로 증명하고 작가의 브랜드 창업 목적과 가치 그리고 생산방법을 통해 예술과 상업 그리고 실용의 가치를 증명한다. 또한 장인과 기업의 협업으로 생산된 다양한 제품 사례를 소개하고 생산 공정의 기계화, 분업화 과정과 대중화 정책의 중요성과 가치를 전통 옻칠 공예품의 제한된 생산, 판매, 유통 방식과 비교 검토하고 개선 방안을 제안한다. 이와 같은 사례를 통해 제시한 전통 옻칠공예 산업의 발전방안에 대한 연구 결과 및 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 전통공예의 기술과 생산 방식을 현대적으로 개선하고 현실적인 산업화 정책이 실현되었을 때 공예문화의 선진화, 대중화가 이루어질 수 있다. 둘째, 옻칠의 활성화를 위해서는 전통성을 유지하고 보존하는 차원에서 벗어나 창조와 시대적 활용을 통한 개인과 기업의 브랜드화, 산업화로 나아가야 한다. 셋째, 적극적인 기업과의 협업을 통해 공예의 장점인 분업화를 실현하고 생산 공정의 기계화를 통해 전통 기술의 생산성을 향상한다. 넷째, 옻칠을 활용하고 산업화하기 위해서는 옻칠 공예품과 제품을 개발할 수 있는 전문적인 지식과 기술을 갖춘 전문가 양성이 필요하다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 전통 공예 산업의 저변 화를 꾀하고 대중의 공예에 관한 선이해 관점을 개선하여 전통공예의 산업화, 활성화를 기대한다.

영어초록

This study was initiated with the purpose of proving the importance of the modern lacquer field, improving productivity through collaboration between lacquer masters and companies, and expanding the scope of activity of traditional lacquer craft in order to seek ways to develop and revitalize the domestic traditional lacquer craft industry. This is a proposal for the industrialization and popularization of the traditional craft field, and it is to explore the possibility of linking craft and industry and art and industry. Therefore, this thesis proves the artistic and functional value of traditional lacquer based on the historical background and the necessity of the times, and proves the value of art, commerce, and practicality through the artist's brand entrepreneurial purpose and value, and production method. In addition, various examples of products produced in collaboration with craftsmen and companies are introduced, and the importance and value of mechanization and division of labor in the production process and popularization policies are compared with the limited production, sales, and distribution methods of traditional lacquer crafts, and suggestions for improvement are proposed. . The results and contents of the study on the development plan of the traditional lacquer craft industry presented through such cases are as follows. First, the advancement and popularization of craft culture can be achieved when the technology and production method of traditional crafts are modernly improved and realistic industrialization policies are realized. Second, in order to revitalize lacquer, it is necessary to move away from maintaining and preserving tradition and moving toward branding and industrialization of individuals and companies through creation and utilization of the times. three. Through active collaboration with companies, we realize the division of labor, which is an advantage of crafts, and improve the productivity of traditional technologies through mechanization of the production process. Fourth, in order to utilize and industrialize lacquer, it is necessary to nurture experts with professional knowledge and skills to develop lacquer crafts and products. Based on these research results, we expect the industrialization and vitalization of traditional crafts by seeking a base change in the traditional craft industry and improving the public's pre-understanding of craft.
