<별에서 온 그대>가 중국에서 큰 인기를 얻은 배경을 중국적 애정서사의 원형인 당대(唐代) 애정전기(愛情傳奇)에 바탕한 이류연애담의 인신연애(人神戀愛)유형, 명․청대 재자가인(才子佳人)소설, 견우직녀 설화의 원형과 변용의 관점에서 고찰했다. 신적 초능력을 가진 외계인 남성주인공은 중국에는 거의 없는 한국적 서사전통인 적강(謫降)형 인물의 특징을 보이며, 중국적 인신연애담의 남녀구도는 전위되어 나타난다. 주인공은 재자가인의 특성이 뚜렷하며 서사전개도 재자가인소설의 관습을 반복한다. 하지만 대단원 대신 불완전한 해피엔딩의 열린 결말을 채택했다. 별에서 온 남성과 지구 여성의 결연, 계속되는 이별과 만남은 견우직녀 설화의 원형을 재현하지만 불규칙적․부정기적인 분리와 결합을 설정함으로써 낭만적 사랑의 판타지를 강화하고 있다.

영어초록

<My Love From Another Star> was deeply stamped in Chinese people’s mind as much as it did awaken Chinese society, not just a one-time fever of the Korean Wave. In fact, there is some historic origin of narrative within the phenomenon. The archetypes of Chinese love narrative found in <My Love From Another Star> include the type of love between a human and god found in different types of love stories rooted in a type of literature written in Tang Dynasty as a kind of folk tale about an extraordinary story(Aejeongjeongi), novels about talented men and beautiful women(Jaejagain Soseol) in Ming•Qing Dynasty, and the fable of Gyeonwoo and Jiknyeo, and so on. However, an alien hero equipped with supernatural powers can be hardly found in China, and such characters who come down from the heaven as a human being originate from Korean-style narrative tradition. It is, in fact, the transposition of a human-god (male human-goddess) love story structure in China appearing as the one with “a god and a female human”. The male and female main characters are distinctly characterized as a talented man and beautiful woman(Jaejagain), and the narrative develops repeating the convention of novels about talent men and beautiful women. But it chooses an open ending as an incomplete happy ending instead of a closed and complete finale, that is Dadanwon ; therefore, we can anticipate the possibility of narrative that can continue, and it escapes from the uniform formula of a happy ending. The circulative structure of a tie between a man from another star and a woman in the earth and their parting and meeting, that is separation and reunion does reproduce the archetype of the fable of Gyeonwoo and Jiknyeo. However, it does not repeat some stereotyped meeting and parting that takes place once a year on July 7th in the lunar calendar but establish neither regular nor scheduled parting and meeting, which does reinforce the fantasies of romantic love.
