비전형적 행위요구문의 쓰임에 관한 일고찰 (A Study on the Use of Atypical Behavioral Request Sentences)

초록

본 연구는 현대일본어의 「しろ・して・してくれ・しなさい」를 문말표현으로 하는 행위요구문을 대상으로 하며, 전형적 행위요구문을 성립시키는 5 조건을 세워 그 조건을 일부 만족하지 않는 행위요구문을 비전형적 행위요구문으로 분류한다. 비전형적 행위요구문은 다음의 다섯 가지 경우로 나누어 고찰한다. [a] 화자가 청자에게 요구하는 입장이나 상황에 있지 않다. [b] 화자가 요청 내용 (명제)을 청자가 수행하기를 원하지 않는다. [c] 화자의 요구를 수행하는 2인칭 청자가 존재하지 않는다. [d] 청자가 요구 내용(명제)을 제어하는 ​​자기제어성을 갖지 않는다. [e] 요구 내용은 아직 실현되지 않은 "미실현"사태가 아니다. 이러한 비전형적인 행위요구문은 문법적 요소에 따라 ‘허가요구’로 쓰이거나, 희박한 ‘행위요구(働きかけ)’성을 갖는 문에서부터 청자가 수행하는 것에 관심을 두기 보다는 화자의 ‘충고/바람/기대/감정’등이 청자에게 전달되는 기능을 하게 된다. 또한 ‘기실현’사태를 명제내용으로 하는 행위요구문은 ‘행위요구(働きかけ)’성이 발동되지 않는 화자의 요구적 발화에 그치는 표현이다. 다시 말하면, 전형적 행위요구문은 ‘행위요구’로서 청자에 의한 명제의 수행이 전제되지만, 비전형적인 행위요구문은 청자에 의한 명제의 수행이 아닌 화자의 감정이 전면화 되는 표출적 의미가 두드러지며 이는 발화전달의 모달리티 안에서 ‘행위요구’와 ‘표출’과의 연계성을 시사해 준다.

영어초록

This study focuses on action request sentences that employ the modern Japanese sentence expression 「Shiro・shite・shitekure・shinasai」. This study identified five prerequisites for establishing the prototype as an action request sentence, as well as the semantic functions of the communicative modalities of atypical action request statements that partially satisfy these characteristics.
Consideration is given to the five following instances of atypical behavioral requests: [a] The speaker is not in the position or circumstance expected by the audience.
[b] The speaker does not want the request to be carried out (proposition).
[c] There is no second person listener fulfilling the request of the speaker.
[d] The listener lacks self-control in controlling the request's content (proposition).
[e] The request is not for a "unrealized" circumstance that has not yet occurred.
This atypical action request sentence is used as a 'request for permission' depending on the grammatical element, or from a sentence with a sparse "hatarakikake'(making someone behave)'; however, rather than focusing on what the listener does, the speaker's 'advice/wish/expectation/emotions' and so on function to be transmitted to the listener. In addition, the action request sentence that uses the 'actualization' circumstance as the proposition content is merely an expression of the speaker's demanding speech that does not trigger 'hatarakikake'. In other words, the typical action request sentence is a 'hatarakikake' (making someone behave), which presupposes the performance of the proposition by the listener, whereas the atypical action request sentence has an expressive meaning that the speaker's feelings are all-encompassing, rather than the performance of the proposition by the listener. It indicates the relationship between 'hatarakikake' (influencing someone's behavior) and 'hyousyutu' (the expressing of one's emotions) within the mode of speech delivery.
