군산 하제 어업요 현장조사 연구 (A Field Survey on the Labor Song of the Gunsan Haje Fishery)

초록

군산시 옥서면에 위치한 하제는 과거 전국 유일한 어패류 위판장이 있을 정도로, 어업이 성행했던 포구이다. 하지만 새만금간척사업으로 인해 생태계가 파괴되면서, 어패류 개체 수와 양이 줄어들기 시작했고, 내수면 어업이 금지되어 포구의 기능을 상실하였다. 이와 더불어 미군기지 탄약고 설치 및 확장 공사로 인해 마을 주민들이 강제 이주를 하게 되면서 하제는 역사의 뒤안길로 사라졌다.
본고는 이러한 하제에서 불린 어업요를 기록하고 그 특징을 살펴보았다. 수집한 어업요는 <노 젓는 소리>, <조개 따는 소리>, <배 타고 들어오면서 부르는 소리> 총 3곡이다. <노 젓는 소리>는 “어기여차”와 같은 구령조 사설에 메기고 받는소리로 불린 것으로 보이나, 선율 진행과 사설까진 알 수 없었다. <조개 따는 소리>는 3소박 4박자에 독창으로 불리며 구성음은 ‘파#-솔-라-도(시)-레’로 ‘라’가 주음이다. 또한 메나리토리인 <뱃노래>의 선율과 사설을 차용한 것으로 보이는데, <조개 따는 소리>는 <뱃노래>에 비해 최저음의 음높이가 높아져 음정 간격이 줄어든 형태라는 점에서 차이가 있었다. 이는 가창자의 연로함에 의한 오류일 수도 있지만, 메나리토리에서 최저음이 높아져 음정 간격이 줄어든 어사용토리와 유사한 형태로 해석할 여지도 있어 보인다. <배 타고 들어오면서 부르는 소리> 역시 3소박 4박자에 독창으로 부르며, <뱃노래>의 선율과 사설을 차용한 것으로 보인다. 구성음은 ‘파#-라-시’로 <조개 따는 소리>의 후렴구가 축소된 형태로 해석된다.
따라서 <조개 따는 소리>와 <배 타고 들어오면서 부르는 소리>는 모두 3소박 4박자의 박자 구조를 사용하며, <뱃노래>와 유사한 곡조를 사용하되, 어업의 형태에 따라 노랫말만 바꾸어 부르는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 <조개 따는 소리>의 구성음은 ‘파#-솔-라-도-레’로 메나리토리에서 최저음의 음높이가 높아져 음정 간격이 줄어든 어사용토리와 유사한 형태가 사용되는 것을 알 수 있다.

영어초록

Located in Oksseo-myeon, Gunsan-si, Haje was a port that was so popular in the past that it was called a ‘golden fishing ground’. In particular, it is a port where fishing and business related to fish and shellfish were popular that there was the only fish and shellfish consignment market in the country. However, as the Saemangeum Reclamation Project destroyed the ecosystem of the Haje, the number and quantity of fish and shellfish began to decrease. In addition, the inland fishery was prohibited due to the compensation, and the Haje actually lost the function of the port. In addition, the village community was disbanded as the residents of Haje Village were forced to move due to the construction and expansion of ammunition depots at U.S. military bases. This paper conducted a field survey of these Haje, recorded the fishing work songs called in the Haje, and examined their characteristics. There are a total of three fishing work songs collected in the Haje: “A rowing song”, “The Sound of Picking Clams”, and “A song that you sing on the way back from the boat” “A rowing song”, the melody and the editorial were unknown. “The Sound of Picking Clams” is a song that is mainly sung as an solo with a beat of 3 small beats and 4 beats, and several musical characteristics are seen within one song. In the case of the chorus, the main sound is “fa#-sol-ra-do(si)-re”, with “la” as the main sound, and “la” appears as both the 3rd degree progression of “la-do” and the 2nd degree progression of “la-si”, and “do” is used as a flowing sound. “The sound of picking clams” seems to be borrowed from the melody and editorial of “Boat Song”, and the composition sound of “Boat Song” is “mi-sol-ra-do-re”, which is a typical menaritori with “la” as the main sound. “The sound of picking clams” has a common point of using “la” as the main sound like “Boat Song”, but it differs in that the pitch of the lowest note is increased and the pitch interval is reduced. This may be an error caused by the singer's old age, but it may be interpreted in a form similar to that of the eosayong-tori, where the pitch gap decreases due to an increase in the lowest note of the menaritori. “A song that you sing on the way back from the boat” is also mainly sung as a solo with 3 small beats and 4 beats, and it seems that it has borrowed the melody and editorial of “Boat Song” like “The sound of picking clams”. The composition sound is “fa#-la-si” and is interpreted in a reduced form of “The sound of picking clams”. Therefore, it seems that all of the pieces of fishing work use the beat structure of 3 small beats and 4 small beats, and only the lyrics have changed according to the type of fishing. In addition, the compositional sound of “The sound of picking clams” is “fa#-sol-ra-do-re”, which is similar to the menaritori, but it can be seen that a form similar to that of the menaritori, which has a reduced pitch interval due to the high pitch of the lowest note in the menaritori, is used.
