초록

본 논문은 이사야서에 나타난 여호와의 영이 행한 사역의 주된 목적이 무엇인지 밝히는데 그 목적이 있다. 특별히 논자는 여호와의 영이 메시아 사역자들을 통해 시온 백성과 열방 가운데 성취한 변화와 회복을 유심히 살핌으로써, 그 영이 행하였던 사역의 목적을 살피도록 하겠다. 지난 세기 초부터, 점점 더 많은 학자가 언어적, 주제적, 그리고 신학적 관점에서 구약 성경에 묘사된 여호와의 영에 관심을 기울이게 되었다. 비록 다른 강조점과 접근 방식에도 불구하고, 그 연구들은 공통적으로 구약 시대에 활동하였던 여호와의 영의 정체성, 활동, 그리고 약속을 규명하는데 크게 기여하였다. 그러나 이와 같은 다양한 연구들에도 불구하고, 구약에 여호와의 영이 성취하였고, 장차 종말의 때에 성취할 사역의 목적을 규명한 연구는 여전히 부족하다. 다시 말해, 구약에 묘사된 여호와의 영이 행한 사역의 통합적인 해석의 틀(framework)을 밝히는 것은 성령론의 발전에 크게 기여할 것이다. 이러한 관점에서, 논자는 여호와의 영이 이사야서의 메시아 사역자들을 통해 성취한 사역을 깊이 있게 주해하고 분석함으로써, 이사야서와 구약에서 여호와의 영이 행한 사역의 주된 목적을 논하겠다.
이상의 목적을 이루기 위해 본고는 크게 세 단계를 거친다. 첫 번째 단계에서 논자는 학자들이 이사야서에 나타난 여호와의 영을 어떻게 연구하였는지 설명할 것이다. 이 단계에서 독자들은 이사야서에 묘사된 여호와의 영과 관련한 연구사를 살피고, 아울러 본고가 보완할 부분을 발견할 이다. 두 번째 단계에서 논자는 이사야서에 메시아 사역자들이 등장하는 세 본문- 11:1-5, 42:1-4, 그리고 61:1-3–을 상세하게 주해할 것이다. 이 과정을 통해, 독자들은 여호와의 영과 관련하여 이사야서가 전달하는 뚜렷한 주제의 패턴(thematic pattern)-여호와의 영, 사역자, 그리고 공의와 정의-을 발견하게 될 것이다. 세 번째 단계는 여호와의 영이 시온 공동체와 열방 가운데 성취할 공의와 정의가 궁극적으로 여호와의 다스림과 긴밀하게 연관되어 있음을 논할 것이다. 이상의 논의를 통해, 논자는 결론적으로 이사야서에서 여호와의 영은 이스라엘 공동체와 열방 가운데 여호와의 다스림을 굳건히 확립함으로써, 그의 통치와 나라를 세우는 사역을 감당하였음을 논증할 것이다. 아울러 이것은 그가 구약에서 행한 사역의 중심된 목적을 보여준다.

영어초록

The present study is an attempt to offer a contribution towards a better understanding on the theological role of Yahweh’s Spirit in the Book of Isaiah with special reference to the messianic passages, where the Spirit is poured upon the Messianic king(11:1-5, 32:15-20), the servant(42:1-4), and the servants(61:1-11). Since the beginning of the last century, due to its theological importance, the increasing numbers of the biblical scholars have begun to pay attention to both the Hebrew term ר֣וּחַ and Spirit in the Old Testament from the linguistic, thematic, and theological dimensions. Despite their differences in emphases and approach, scholars have exhibited a shared sense of concern with the task of providing a clear-cut contour for the understanding of the reality, identity, ministry, and promise of the Yahweh’s Spirit in the Old Testament. While the overall content of these studies have much to be commended, however, there is still lacking an integrating principle or framework which explains the purpose of Yahweh’s ministry in the Old Testament. Thus, the task of better understanding the pneumatology of the Old Testament is compelling and may require a new paradigm of our understanding of the ministry of the Yahweh’s Spirit in that period. In this respect, we will attempt to explore the ministry of Yahweh’s Spirit in the Book of Isaiah in this study with the particular reference to the messianic passages where Yahweh’s Spirit is to be poured upon the messianic agents-king, servant, and servants. This endeavor makes a significant contribution to the pneumatology of the Old Testament by providing us a proper and integrating viewpoint on the theological role and purpose of the ministry of Yahweh’ Spirit in the Old Testament.
In order to achieve this goal, this paper consists of four major sections. In the section I, we will review the scholarly opinions regarding the term, theme, and theology related with Yahweh’s Spirit in the Old Testament, and then see the scholarly context and void this study would fill. The section II will explicate the ministry of Yahweh’s Spirit upon the messianic agents in the Book of Isaiah and take into account the thematic pattern the Spirit acts upon the messianic agents in a way to create and cultivate the righteousness in the Israelite community and society. In the section III, we will discuss how the righteousness produced by the Spirit-empowered agents works to establish Yahweh’s rulership, more broadly his Kingdom, in the midst of Israel. Finally, based on these explorations and observations, we will argue that the theological role of the ministry of Yahweh’s Spirit is to embody and establish the rulership of Yahweh, namely, the his Kingdom within the people of Israel in the Book of Isaiah.
