    초록

From the end of the 19th century to 1945, Japanese historians' research on Korean history is known for justifying aggression and colonial rule. In particular, the fact that Japan conquered and ruled the southern part of the Korean Peninsula in ancient time was one of its main subjects. However, the research on Japanese rule of southern part of Korean peninsular in ancient time was not just to rationalize the colonial rule through the past. First of all, it also meant that political unification of the Japanese Archipelago took place early. This is because it is difficult to secure sovereignty by attacking the southern part of the peninsula over the sea without political unification, stability and prosperity. Not only that, but it was also about the very old relationship between Japan and the continent represented by China. The reason why Japan, the tip island in Northeast Asia, was able to develop and prosper so quickly in ancient times was because it accepted advanced Chinese culture and culture from China's counties on the Korean Peninsula. In other words, the advanced cultures Japan accepted in its relationship with China before and after A.D. became a driving force for Japan's political and cultural development in ancient time, and as a result, Japan grew to dominate Korea beyond the sea. From this perspective, it can be said that Japanese rule of southern part of Korean peninsular in ancient time was not only about Japan's superiority in Korea-Japan relations, but also about Japan's political development and relationship between China and Japan at that time.
This paper examines what kind of historical images Inaba Iwakichi drew on the Japanese Ministry of Imna and China's counties such as Lelang Commandery. Inaba, who led the study of Korean history during the colonial period, also thought the Japanese rule of southern part of Korean peninsular and China-Japan relations in connection like other Japanese researchers such as Imanishi Ryu and Tsuda Sokichi. However, based on "The King of Na gold seal"(漢委奴国王印) which were discovered on an island in northern Kyushu in 1784 and Chinese history books such as Book of Han(漢書), Book of Wei(魏書), he set the date of establishment of the Japanese Ministry in Korean peninsular more than 100 years earlier than other researchers. In addition, Inaba emphasized that Lelang Commandery's culture was not a frontier but the essence of contemporary Chinese culture through the bronze bell of Emperor Wen's shrine(孝文廟銅鐘) and Lacquerwares with inscriptions of Lelang(樂浪漆器) that were excavated in the Daedong River basin in the mid-1920s. He went further from here and insisted that it was in the distant past before the establishment of Four Commanderies of Han that Chinese forces entered the Korean peninsular based on the founding of the sphere made in Qin Dynasty(秦戈) and Knife money(明刀). In particular, Inaba argued that Chinese culture was introduced to Japan before the establishment of Four Commanderies of Han through the discovery of the Knife money in the direction of Yamato(大和) through Setonaikai(瀬戸内海) beyond the Korean Peninsula, and that to understand Japanese history, changes in the continent must be considered from the beginning. In addition, he went further here, suggesting that the Indian and the Western Regions' cultures of the continent affect the Lelang culture through the Hill censer(博山 爐) and the plating technology of the Lelang lacquerwares. In other words, Inaba tried to show that Japan accepted the devepolped Chinese Culture, which was the driving force for Japan's political and cultural development, before the establishment of the Four Commanderies of Han through Korean peninsular ane the Chinese Culture was not only the essence of mainland China, but also influenced by the Western Regions cultures. In this regard, it can be said that Inaba not only raised the beginning point of ancient Japanese development and the period of Japanese rule of southern part of Korean peninsular, but also tried to reveal that Japan's history and culture were related to China as well as the continent beyond him since its inception.
