해방문단의 안회남이 대전문학에 끼친 영향 - 소설가 염인수를 중심으로 - (The Influence in Daejeon Literature by An Hoe-nam of the Literary Circles around the Liberation Period-Novelist Yeom In-soo as the Center)

This paper examines the influence in the literary world of Daejeon area by An Hoe-nam who had lived in Jeonui Meon, Yeongi Gun, Chungnam before and after the liberation. Daejeon Literature had its origins in the general magazine 『Hyang-to』 and the issue from discussion so far is that pure literature which was continued to 『Hyang-to』, 『Dong-baek』, and 『Hoseo Munhak』 has been considered to be the first in history of literature in Daejeon, on the other hand, history of literature that shows a progressive stance has been intentionally erased and forgotten. Thus, if looking at what effect has An Hoe-nam had in the literary world of Daejeon area around the liberation period, a progressive inclination of Daejeon which has remained forgotten will be exposed. The reason is that after the liberation, An Hoe- nam recommended the novelist Yeom In-soo who was working in Daejeon into the literary circles and this affected him.
Yeom In-soo graduated college in Japan and went on to the literary circles by the recommendation of An Hoe-nam in 1946. He worked with writers who lived in Daejeon by interchanging with them; however, after the Korean war, he served as chairman of writers alliance in Daejeon area. His novel 『Deep River Flows』 well describes the situation when Yeom In-soo and An Hoe-nam met. An Hoe-nam created a personal novel until the liberation. After the liberation, his writer consciousness has changed by creating novels that include criticism of reality. However, Yeom In-soo kept a record of his life while he was pressed for his left-wing activity. Thus, Yeom In-soo’s novels can be evaluated as novel discussions and writer discussions which were completed by experiences, confession, and self-disclosure. His novels have showed the reflection of new creative writing which was beyond the existing genre of writing.
After being liberated from Japanese colonization, we lost an opportunity to restart from new demolition. In the process of pro-Japanese collaborators being pro-American and anti-communist, history clearance was not properly done. Consequently, after the independence and now, 72 years later, we still dream year zero. The assertion that digs into world history in 1945 and turns up that year zero has not come is not an excessive claim. Especially in the case of Daejeon literature field, the liberation space is the period of making a literature space and attempting writing that can be named as Daejeon literature, but a trace of progressive literature was mostly erased. The reason that this paper tries to look at the influence of An Hoe- nam to the novelist Yeon In-soo in the liberation space is to reconstitute the literature field of the liberation space which can be regarded as the origin of Daejeon literature. By looking at the relationship between An Hoe-nam and Yeom In-soo, and comparing the writer’s view of the world and a tendency of writing, we tried to investigate a position of Daejeon literature year zero. In order for the liberation space to be the true Daejeon literature year zero, there is a need to consistently research on 『Hyun-dae』 and 『Shin-sung』 as well as writers who have progressive inclinations including the novelist Yeom In-soo.
