    초록

    This study was performed to evaluate the tensile strength and abrasion by toothbrush of flowable composite resins. Seven commercially available flowable composite resins (FiltekTM Flow, Palpique Estelite LV High Flow, Medium Flow 및 Low Flow, UniFilⓇ Flow, RevolutionTM Formula 2, and Esthet-X Flow) were selected as experimental materials. Rectangular-shaped tensile test specimens were fabricated in a split teflon mold giving 5 ㎜ in gauge length and 2 ㎜ in thickness. Wear specimens were fabricated into disc shape with diameter of 15 ㎜ and thickness of 1.5 ㎜ in a split teflon mold. All samples of each material group were stored in deionized water at 37℃±1℃ for 30 days. Thermocycling was conducted for 10,000 times with 15 s holds in each 5℃ and 55℃ water baths. Tensile testing was carried out at a crosshead speed of 0.5 ㎜/min. Toothbrushing was conducted using a wear testing machine of pin-on disk type under a load of 1.5 N for 100,000 cycles.
    The results obtained were summarized as follows;
    1. The highest tensile strength of 81.8 ㎫ was observed in the UF group and lowest value of 45.9 ㎫ was observed in the PL group after aging in deionized water at 37℃±1℃ for 30 days. The result of Tukey test showed the significant differences between UF, EX, and PL groups (P<0.05).
    2. The highest tensile strength of 64.6 ㎫ was observed in the RE group and lowest value of 42.3 ㎫ was observed in the PH group after 10,000 thermocycles, but all strength values showed no significant differences between in each group (P>0.05).
    3. Comparison of the tensile strength values between aging group and thermocycling group showed significant decreases of α=0.01 in the UF group and α=0.05 in the PH and EX groups.
    4. Comparison of arithmetical mean deviation from the mean line, Ra, after thermocycling test showed the highest value of 0.559 in the FT group and lowest value of 0.052 in the PL group. The result of Tukey test showed the significant differences between FT, EX, UF, and PL groups (P<0.05).
    5. SEM observation of abraded surfaces revealed the protrusion and missing of filler particles by the selective removal of matrix resin.
