역사인물 문화콘텐츠 활용방안에 관한 연구 -장화왕후 활용 OSMU 사례를 중심으로- (A Study on Plan for Utilizing Cultural Contents of Historical Figure -Cases of Empress Janghwa as an OSMU type cultural contents-)

초록

일상생활에서 자주 사용되는 문화는 활용 목적과 해석의 방향에 따라 다르다. 즉 문화 자체의 형태나 활용 가능한 자원 상태의 문화, 그리고 문화콘텐츠라는 개념으로 접근할 수 있으며 문화의 가공형태에 따른 다양한 문화상품으로 전개 발달하는 양상을 보이고 있다. 본 연구는 문화자원과 문화콘텐츠에 대한 이론적 고찰을 바탕으로 영산강 유역의 중심인 나주지역에서 오래전에 살았었던 역사인물인 ‘장화왕후’관련 문화콘텐츠의 활용방안에 관하여 살펴보고자 하였다. 구체적으로는 지역문화자원으로서의 장화왕후, 여성문화자원으로서의 장화왕후, 관광문화자원으로서의 장화왕후에 대한 시대적 배경과 역사적 상징성 및 문화콘텐츠적 시사점들을 중심으로 고찰하였다. 국내와 국외의 사례들도 문화콘텐츠활용의 유형별로 조사 정리하였다. 오페라와 뮤지컬을 중심으로 한 문화예술 공연 분야, 영화와 드라마 분야, 축제 및 이벤트 분야, 그리고 캐릭터, 애니메이션, 테마파크등에 활용된 사례들도 정리하였다. 이와 같은 고찰 내용들을 바탕으로 OSMU형 문화콘텐츠로서의 장화왕후 활용방안에 대하여 논의하였다. 최근 국가적인 과제로 추진되고 있는 4대강 개발사업의 하나인 영산강개발계획에 문화콘텐츠로 활용하는 방안, 오페라 또는 뮤지컬 제작을 위한 공연콘텐츠 활용, 영화 및 드라마제작을 위한 스토리텔링 활용, 그리고 그 외 다양한 문화콘텐츠산업에의 활용을 이미 진행되었거나, 진행 중 이거나 앞으로의 진행 가능성을 중심으로 제안하였다. 그러나 이 모든 가능성들은 지역주민들의 지역문화 저변에 대한 폭넓은 이해와 합의가 기본전제가 되어야만 비로소 시작될 수 있을 것이다. 아울러 관계 기관과 관련 전문가들의 적극적인 참여는 물론 중앙정부의 적극적인 지원과 지역자치단체의 노력도 필요할 것이다. 그러나 무엇보다도 중요한 것은 문화자원, 또는 문화원형으로부터 문화콘텐츠로 전개해나갈 수 있는 창의적인 기획과 실천전략 및 전문가 배출과 적극적인 추진의지, 또 이를 위한 건전한 문화 풍토 조성이 우선되어야 할 것임은 아무리 강조해도 지나치지 않을 것이다.

영어초록

Cultures that are used often in daily life is different based on the objective of the utilization and the direction of interpretation. Namely, it can be approached in a form of the culture itself, culture in a resource state that can be utilized, or in the concept of cultural contents, and it is showing the trend of developing into a variety of cultural products according to the form of treatment for culture. This research intends to examine the utilization plan of cultural contents related to the historical figure, Empress Janghwa, who lived in Najoo area that was the center of Youngsan river valley based on theoretical study about cultural resources and cultural contents. Empress Janghwa was studied specifically as a local cultural resource, female cultural resource, and cultural tourist resource with focus on historical background, historical symbolism, and implications on cultural contents. Domestic and international examples of the utilization of cultural contents were organized and investigated per type. With focus on operas and musicals, examples of utilization in the areas of cultural arts performance, movies and drama, festivals and events, characters, animations, and theme parks were also organized. Based on the details of such studies, the utilization plan for Empress Janghwa as an OSMU type cultural contents was discussed. Proposals were made with focus on the plan for utilizing cultural contents on Youngsan River development plan which is one of the 4-Rivers Project that has recently been promoted as a national project, utilization in performance contents for production of operas or musicals, utilization in storytelling for production of movies and dramas, and other utilization possibilities of various other cultural contents businesses. However, all these possibilities can only begin based on the understanding and agreement with the local residents about the expansion of local cultures. In addition, active participation by local institutes and related experts as well as the active support of the federal government and local government are necessary. However, it cannot be stressed enough that creative planning and practical strategy that can develop into cultural contents from cultural resources or cultural origin, production of experts, and active willingness for promotion, and the creation of healthy cultural atmosphere for such must be preceded.
